The captain of Kiva's Nepal team has asked me to recruit a few friends to the team, so I thought I might as well come here, and make the big sweeping appeal.

You know -- cast a WIDE net. :-)

From the Nepal team's summary page, the "About us" section:

"This team is for 1) anyone who cares about Nepalese entrepreneurs 2) people from Nepal who are willing to help entrepreneurs from all over the world"

If you fall into either category -- and the team has a few members from both groups now -- please come join  us.

You'll find us clustered, for Kiva lending purposes at times :-), under the beautiful Nepalese flag.

Team Nepal appeared on Kiva's homepage & caught my interest, so I decided to check it out.
When I saw Fred, the Captain of Team Virginia, was a member I went ahead & joined. It seemed like the right thing to do  Wink
How can one resist an endorsement like that  Huh?   Thumbs Up

Where today are the Pequot? Where are the Narragansett, the Mohican, the Pokanoket, and many other once powerful tribes of our people? They have vanished before the avarice & the oppression of the White Man, as snow before a summer sun. Will we let ourselves be destroyed in our turn without a struggle, give up our homes, our country bequeathed to us by the Great Spirit, the graves of our dead & everything that is dear & sacred to us? I know you will cry with me, "Never! Never!"---Tecumseh of the Shawnees                                                                                        "They made us many promises, more than I can remember, but they never kept but one; they promised to take our land, & they took it."---Mahpiua Luta (Red Cloud) of the Oglala Sioux

Bravest of the Brave

As an ex Brit squaddie, I will happly join this team.

I thought that I would only join one team and devote my loans to them.....
But, I was wrong.

I will keep a watchful eye out for any Gurkha in need.

Stutz,

Thanks for posting that, and (speaking as a fellow Nepal lending team member) welcome to the team.
