http://www.squidoo.com/squidoo-charity-giveawayRead about this from a Team I'm on - I didn't check this out, but from a glance it's worth your time: H Help us give away $80,000 Squidoo is going to give away up to $80,000 to charity by October 15, 2008.
Since our inception, we've been focused on helping people spread the word about and raise money for causes they believe in. To date, our community has earned enough money to support several animal shelters, to build a school in Cambodia, to invest in an entrepreneur in Tanzania and to pay for cutting edge research into the causes and cure of Juvenile Diabetes. Among many, many other wonderful stories and successful donations. Thank you.
Along the way, Squidoo has also been saving up 5% of our total income (a very big number for a company our size) and now we're asking for your help in giving some of it away!
Here's how this works One vote = $2 Vote for your favorite one of our Squidoo partner charities, in the poll below. For each vote, we'll give that organization $2. It's that easy. We'll do it until October 15th, or 40,000 votes (which is $80,000). Whichever happens first. Any vote after the 40thousandth, or after October 15th, won't count toward the $80,000 giveaway. But hey, the popularity contest can continue. If we get fewer than 40,000 votes (which would be silly... it's free money for great causes) we'll roll the remainder into the Squidoo Charity Fund for the next payout. Rules The rules are straightforward, too The Yeses: * Yes, feel free to team up and invite as many people as you can to vote. * Yes, it's entirely possible that one nonprofit could get the lion's share of the donations. It's all up to you. * Yes, it's okay to blog about this. * Yes, it's even cooler if, when you're done voting, you make a lens for your favorite charity. That's also free, and will give far more than $2 to the organization, month in and month out. The No's: * No, don't vote more than once. * No, don't vote with multiple accounts. If we find you are, we'll cancel all your votes. * No, there's no trick. We're really giving away as much as eighty thousand dollars. * No, don't stop there! Go make a lens for your favorite charity. See the last Yes item above.

I just voted and got Kiva $2 !
Kiva now has 2.1% of the 16,684 votes! (but no matter what % they get, they will get $2 for every vote of the first 40,000 votes) - So it looks like Kiva should get ~$350700 so far !

I have voted and Kiva is at 2.5% there is plenty of room for more kivafriends to jump in. On a side note I want to say that Squidoo is a great place to earn money for charity every day. All you have to do is create a lens, which is really easy and promote it to earn money. You get an affiliate percentage from Amazon or ebay for items you can promote on your site(ex. if you have a lens about microfinance you might feature "banker to the poor") You chose what charity or charities you want the ad money to go to and that is it. You can make as many of them as you want. It is good to update them occasionally though which I haven't done. Still I have earned a little money more Kiva through my 3 lenses. To check out my lens of kiva to see what I am taking about go here http://www.squidoo.com/kivamicrofundthis took me less than 2 hours to do, although it isn't as good as it could be.

DanaLi - very impressive - and advertisers just put their ads there and Kiva gets money??? Good for you !!! Although I myself don't really understand all this internet stuff - and there's a ton of stuff I will never ever find, you young people really will knit this world together and save it from itself. I gave you 5 stars - hope the rating helps bring more people. And everyone else should just go vote for Kiva at http://www.squidoo.com/squidoo-charity-giveaway - Kiva has now 2.5% of 25471 votes. There are still 14529 votes to go - you could be one of them. jan

well it's over with Kiva at 2%. Not quite as good as we hoped but that is still a very easy $1600! Yeah us Also, it is Computer learning month and Squidoo is encouraging people to make lens with some computer related topic and donate the profits to one of three computer related charities. Kiva is one of them so hopefully lots of money will poor in from that. I love squidoo and I encourage everyone to try it out and make a lens. Just pick a topic you are passionate about and start explaining it like you would to a friend. You don't need to be particularly computer savy to do it. I should know because i am not at all computer savy. dana
