ISLAMORADA, Fla. — A dog is recovering after a Florida Keys carpenter dove in to save his pet from a shark.

Greg LeNoir said he took his 14-pound rat terrier Jake for a daily swim at a marina Friday.

The 5-foot shark suddenly surfaced and grabbed nearly the entire dog in its mouth.

LeNoir said he yelled, then balled up his fists and dove headfirst into the water. He hit the shark in the back and the creature finally let go of the dog.

Man and dog made it safely back to shore. The dog suffered bite wounds but was not critically injured.

Hey Guys,
Just thought I'd stop by to say hi.
Peace to All.

Fella

You might want to click on me.  The word on the street is that I'm quite precious.

P.S.  Yes, Jan, I do snuggle and I love climbing onto people's laps and also their heads when they're good enough to lie down on the floor or ground with me.  What isn't so apparent from this picture taken this very weekend is that I've somehow morphed into this wildly funny-looking goofy gangly gawky galoof of a 4 1/2 month old adolescent whose body parts are way out of proportion to one another.  But.... I'm still impossibly, wonderfully, luxuriously soft, so life does have its compensations!

This, to illustrate "the P.S." added to my yesterday's post, above.

Pic: Jill's little fella sitting with Jill's best friend from the fourth grade, Linda, one of his puppy godmothers, (also a Kiva lender, Of Course) in a picture that was taken this past weekend, along with the previous photo.  Pretty amazing, huh?!  He's like a miniature horse, and it seemed to happen almost overnight.....***

Oh my bob, he's a monster! In the photo by himself, I
was picturing him as the size of a retriever pup, but
this fellow is a Clydesdale! What a darling. How old
is he, Jill, and what the hell kind o' dog is he?
(And how could I sneak a puppy into this household
without the Sainted Spouse finding out?)

Edited to add: Look at the size of his feet! Gaahh.
And his head is bigger than Linda's!

Have you seen this lovely rabbit! (The lady is of course also worth a look) Smiley

Mila is a very self-sacrificing mother who is in charge of the care of seven children; they are all still very small and depend completely on her. This is why she chose to raise small animals in her home so that she could also continue to attend to the needs of her children. She still needs to take care of the smallest of her children so she does not have the chance to leave to the agricultural fields to work; however, she can feed and take care of the small animals. The costs of such a large family are very high, so Mila needs to increase the number of animals she raises and her production of agricultural products. She showed us the tender animals that she raises; among them beautiful rabbits which are the most delicate and specifically the ones she would like to increase; this is why she is seeking a loan. She hopes to improve her income in order to cover the needs of her large family.

Just a note to announce the birth of DIVA's & Joker's twins!  Give Rose

Two little gray stripped kittens were successfully hidden under our living room sofa for the past 4-6 weeks! They are absolutely beautiful...sweet and blue eyed. Gender of the newborns yet to be ascertained.

Mother DIVA and babies doing great! Joker, the proud Daddy, is strutting his stuff and Uncle Star is keeping a watchful eye! Magic knows they are 'babies' and gets all doe-eyed at the mention of the newcomer 'babies'.

"Grandma" Lorna still in shock!
