Though they are not really "part of the loan", just take a look on those lovely puppies! http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=68523&_tpos=6&_tpg=15 Mrs. Them Thi Nguyen, 50 years old, joined the Fund in 2003 and has completed 5 rounds of funding. In every round of funding, her family has used the loans to invest in raising pigs, chickens, ducks, and fish farming. With daily income from the duck eggs, the family always has a steady daily income of 200,000 VND. She has three children who are currently attending school. In this round of funding the family is requesting 9,000,000 VND to invest in raising livestock. Their average income is 5,000,000 VND/month.

Two little gray stripped kittens were successfully hidden under our living room sofa for the past 4-6 weeks! They are absolutely beautiful...sweet and blue eyed. Gender of the newborns yet to be ascertained.
Lorna, The Kiva cat-lovers demand photos of the new arrivals. Pretty please ? -Q

“ …. Sasha and Malia, I love you both so much, more than you can know… ” Obama told 10-year-old Malia and 7-year-old Sasha during his victory speech in Chicago’s Grant Park. “ And you have earned the new puppy that's coming with us to the White House.” That may have been my favorite part of his entire speech, well, one of 'em, anyway. The article: Among Obama’s tough choices: What kind of dog?http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/27556259/For those of you who click on the link and read the article, you may not be surprised to learn that my young “Fella”, when polled, raised his paw, unhesitatingly, for what’s apparently, older daughter, Malia’s first choice. They say she wants a Golden Doodle! I’m attaching a couple pics of Golden Doodles ( which I'd never even heard of before today) that I just found at Google Images. And check out this slideshow for a view of former four-footed residents of the White House. Some great shots.... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27557733/displaymode/1107/s/2/EDIT: A next day update on the Obama dog, thanks to the British Broadcasting Corporation, the BBC, of all sources. Word has it that we may be talking about a Rescue Golden Doodle, sweet, but very well-behaved (That last was for you, Barney Bush!). http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/us_elections_2008/7714480.stmThe President-Elect probably won't be talking about this all-important world-concerning issue in his first press conference, to be held about four hours from now, I think. But we can live in hope....

Now I forget where I first saw this yesterday: PUPPIES!!! Live streaming. With sound. Addictive. They sure sleep a lot. Unless they don't. I only wish my computer had smell-o-vision so I could take in that sweet skunky puppy scent. http://cdn1.ustream.tv/swf/4/viewer.45.swf?cid=317016http://cdn1.ustream.tv/swf/4/viewer.45.swf?cid=317016PUPPIES!!!!! EDITED By Moderator: live video feed slows down computers - while the feature is available it shouldn't be used. HOWEVER, going to the link above is about the most fun way to procrastinate today I've found! ABC-Thanks for giving me another thing to do today! H Sorry, folks. But he's right. It's PUPPIES!!!!!

 | | María Maximina is 73 years old and she belongs to the “Mujeres Decididas II” (Determined Women II) communal bank and to the “Club de Madres Cristo Redentor.” She lives on Las Jadeítas Street, Block A21, Lot 25, in the La Rinconada development, in the province of Trujillo, in the La Libertad department, Peru. María Maximina didn’t study because she didn’t have the support of her parents. She is illiterate, but she was taught how to sign her name. She got married when she was 25 years old to Pablo Vaca and they had 7 children, all of whom are now independent. She sells alfalfa and corn leaves as small animal feed. She does this from the door of her house. With her first loan of 300 soles, which she repaid in 4 payments, she remembers that at that time she was working as a street vendor in Cesar Vallejo Avenue. She bought bread to sell and that is when she also started to sell alfalfa and corn leaves, because with that loan she also bought those products. With this loan of 700 soles, which she will repay in 4 payments, she will buy alfalfa and corn leaves. María dreams of being completely healthy and having a store inside her home.

The new Toyota VENZA is being marketed for pet-lovers, and there are special pet accessories being sold as well (I almost said "car pet" but then I would have been misunderstood. ) Dogs and even cats can look forward to more than a dozen VENZA-compatible creature comforts, the most ever available through Toyota dealers. Some of the available products include a rear-hatch pet ramp for easy loading and unloading, a leash tether for securing pets in the vehicle, a pet booster seat with harness, a first/second-row or cargo-area pet barrier, pet seatbelt buckles and rear-seat zip-line-style harnesses. http://behindthewheelnews.toyota.com/index.php?id=112&by=&fTrk=Default --Diane.
