For millenia, human beings have reared animals for many different purposes. This thread will collect images of KIVA entrepreneurs who are raising livestock for food (e.g. dairy, meat), textiles (e.g. wool, leather) or labour (e.g. farm, transportation).
Images of farm animals in art may also be included.

Parallel Threads:

Name:Teofila Perez Hurtado
Location: Peru
NotesSince she was very young, she was related to the breeding of animals. Her parents were great livestock breeders in their area; and since she got married, Teofila saw in livestock breeding her best of option for making a living. It has been approximately 25 years that she has been fully dedicated to her animals, which are beautiful llamas. She goes out to graze them every morning to the surrounding pastures in her community, which to her is the part of her work she most enjoys. The most difficult thing is to feed them during the winter, since the cold weather affects her normal routine.

Thanks to fellow KivaSleuth Mona for pointing this one out!

Name:Mila Coronel Cortez
Location: Peru
NotesMila is a very self-sacrificing mother who is in charge of the care of seven children; they are all still very small and depend completely on her. This is why she chose to raise small animals in her home so that she could also continue to attend to the needs of her children. She still needs to take care of the smallest of her children so she does not have the chance to leave to the agricultural fields to work; however, she can feed and take care of the small animals...... She showed us the tender animals that she raises; among them beautiful rabbits which are the most delicate and specifically the ones she would like to increase; this is why she is seeking a loan.
