The Kiva - Risk and Due Diligence page notes three levels of risk.

Lending to the poor online involves 3 levels of risk

Risk 1: Entrepreneur Risk

Risk 2: Field Partner Risk

Risk 3: Country Risk

Based on its established track record, is a fourth level of risk worth noting on Kiva's Risk and Due Diligence page?

Risk 4: Kiva Risk

Hi Richard - I am not sure of your point here...

I think what you have quoted is the risk found outside of Kiva itself...

I believe the information regarding your desired 4th level of risk...
... can be found in the links provided by Kiva in the level 2 - Field Partner Risk...
.......... where Kiva advises us to do our homework at home, so to speak...

Quote
* Learn more about Kiva's role in rating, auditing and managing the risk of each Field Partner.

* Learn more about your role in understanding Kiva's risk indicators to find a loan opportunity that's right for you.

Kiva tells us here what their process is.
Kiva recommends what our role could/should look like.
I think they have done ok in this aspect for the average lender like myself.

No Jan, I am asking if Kiva itself introduces risk over and above the other three levels of risk it already mentions.
