Don't forget to go to the other contest thread and enter your description of what it does.  (Anything is better than Kiva's listing with a blank description.)

Tonight after I downloaded updates to my spreadsheet, my one Ebony Foundation loan didn't show up as 'more than 6 months' delinquent.  The loan is listed as 'delinquent-paying back' and has been delinquent for some time since her first delinquency showed up October 2008.  This is the first time in all of my updates to the program that she hasn't been tabulated in this calculation, although on the loans page, her ID# still shows up in red.  All of my other loans that are delinquent (but really aren't delinquent, since they are GHAPE loans from prior to September and Kiva hasn't fixed that glitch) are tabulated.

Any ideas what is up?

This is the loan in particular:  www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=35582.

My guess (confirmed with my own portfolio and several loans like that, including 2 AN:K loans) is that in determining for how long a loan has been delinquent, the macro checks when the last repayment was made - which in this case was less than 1 month ago (despite the accumulated missed repayments being more than 9 instalments). So this loan is counted among the "< 1 month" delinquent loans.

As the "new" repayment is indicating some action/catching up and the loan is thus probably of (slightly) less concern than loans that have seen no repayments in 6 months, I think this approach of Ian's Summary spreadsheet makes sense (at least to me).

Best wishes,
Wolfgang.

Hmmm, then I have a delinquent loan missing off of my spreadsheet, because the spreadsheet says there are only four, when in reality I have five.  Unless the MIFEX 'ended with loss' throws in a twist somehow?

Here are my loans:

www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=75000     Aem Yin (AMK paying back-delinquent)
www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=63234     Nicholas Kah Kum  (GHAPE not really delinquent)
www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=54993     Samuel Anye  (GHAPE not really delinquent)
www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=35582     Tabitha Kasiku Mulee  (Ebony Foundation, paying back-delinquent)
www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=19951     José Castillo  (MIFEX ended with loss-delinquent)

Yes - as it's not counted as "delinquent" (= status is "Paying back", but loan is behind in payments) but as "defaulted" or rather "ended with loss".

Your delinquency table should - my guess - list four loans with "< 1 month" delinquent, and none else.

Best wishes,
Wolfgang.

good news.  I was just http://www.kiva.org/about/apps/home at this page and the kivafriends summary spreadsheet is listed on the new applications.  Bad news is when you click on it, it sends you to the bottom of this thread.  Confusing if you aren't clear what you are looking for.  I am sure someone else has pointed this out and I have missed it.  So if that is the case, please ignore me.

Thanks for pointing this out, Charmaine.

Here is the link to the post with the latest version of Ian's summary spreadsheet (version 1.99 and 1.99.6).

Best wishes,
Wolfgang.

So in addition to a description, we really will need a stable place for the link on Kiva apps to connect to (much like the Kiva Newsletter archive.)

Dan
P.S. Maybe by the time Ian gets to 2.x version of the spreadsheet??   Smiley
