Thanks, Joe.  A week or two ago, I sent an e-mail to Kiva suggesting they support a "Suggestions" topic here.  (Haven't heard back on that one yet.)  Perhaps if you worked out with them what forums they would like in their very own category, we all would know if and how they would be used.

I've also pondered just ramping up my Wikipedia editing on the topics of microfinance and person-to-person lending.  An advantage to that would be reaching a much larger audience (plus wikiediting on SMF sucks).  A disadvantage would be postings have to be "encyclopedic."  "Advertising," promoting, and point-of-view op-ed pieces pro or con would not be allowed.

I just looked at "all" the microfinance & P2P articles there. They pretty much suck.  I'm good at creating portals, but not so good at writing articles.  Another way we could go would be to start a "project" to improve the articles.  Given some worthwhile content, presenting it in a "featured portal" would be a piece of cake.  That would really get some new eyes looking at microfinance around the world.  Smiley

Look at the bottom of the page.  It's the software that runs this forum.  Wikipedia uses different software.
