In an effort to make this more difficult, I'll do a clue a day until someone guesses the new country or the microfinance institution begins posting to Kiva (it'll probably happen this week):

1.  "...is forever"

Could also be 'War' is forever in which case it might be Somalia or Sudan or perhaps 'Love' is forever in which case, why are we lending to France? Diamonds, ha... assume everything... Maybe since Ben's challenges are tougher than they look, it's the GUESSING is forever! Grin

...there's a country called ALIMONY?Huh?Huh??

Kivafriends.org scrambled and respelled is "Risk And Forgive."  Of course, it also can be respelled "Asked For Virgin" and "Darer of Vikings" and even "Vinegar For Kids" but those are a lot less interesting.

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day.  Smack a man upside the head with a fish and you have his complete attention.

ROFL

From the first clue it sounds like a country that produces diamonds.

Botswana!!  I believe diamonds account for a larger % of GDP than any other country.

Botswana would be nice... It's a growing democracy that is one of the fastest growing countries in the region! That would be cool in that we'd be building up an already burgeoning country for the benefit of it's regional neighborhood. I'm patiently awaiting the verdict on this one Mr. Ben! Tongue

I believe that the phrase attached to diamonds is: "Diamonds ARE forever."  Ben's clue is: "....IS forever."

If he has done the clue correctly, then it won't be associated with diamonds.

In part because I'm an English troglodyte, I want to clarify that the phrase is, in fact, "Diamonds are forever" (I was thinking of, "A diamond is forever").

However, that still leaves some options on the table, and, without consensus on the board, we move to clue #2:
