Here is a "userbox" for anyone who is a member of Wikipedia.

User:UBX/Kiva

To include the userbox on your userpage, just insert the following text.

{{User:UBX/Kiva}}

To put the box in a box, add the following (change "My  userboxes" to whatever you want).

{{Userboxtop|My userboxes}}
{{User:UBX/Kiva}}
{{Userboxbottom}}

The Kiva article could use lots of help to improve its quality.  Feel free to jump in an spruce it up a bit.

Hi, Ramón.  I included tips on how to add the box to your userpage in my original post.

I started The Sustainable development Portal as a way to include Kiva as a Selected organization.  I also offered it up for portal peer review to help make it a Feature portal.  In the long run, I hope this will help more people discover Kiva in the context of worldwide sustainable development.

Please feel free to offer your input at the portal peer review and help improve the Kiva article.  Perhaps some day we can improve its quality enough to be a featured article. That would really get Kiva some extra attention on Wikipedia!  Wink

That is just great. I love the way you used Kiva colours!

Now off to learn about Wiki portals...

Here's a little something you can post to your friends and readers to get them over to Wikipedia and read what they have about Kiva.

What is a five-letter word for "The Ultimate Sustainable System"?

Go to Wikipedia talk at The Sustainable development Portal to see the answer.

While you're there, don't  forget to check out the article about Kiva.

p.s. Please don't blab the answer here.  Wink

This just in...

The Sustainable development Portal now is a Featured PortalCheesy

Now, all we have to do is get some people who can write well enough (not me) to get Kiva to Featured Article status.  Wink

I just went to Wikipedia to look up Kiva and saw a statement that in 2007 Kiva intends to charge MFIs 2% interest.  But the citation brings me to the Kiva FAQs which say no such thing.  If this is now answered differently in the FAQs, it would seem appropriate to modify the Wikipedia article as well.  Or is the Wikipedia more current than the FAQs.  If the article needs updating, who does that?

Personally, I don't know the correct version on that one.  Maybe someone can post/link the current story here. "Anyone" can edit the article on Wikipedia, and update it as needed.

Here's a link to this month's Wikipedia article traffic statistics on "Kiva_(organization)".
