I am a newbie.

Four or five days ago I decided I would use Kiva to give my wife a great present. I made a deposit, thinking I had to do that first. But My Account page still reads 0$ Available Credit. The deposit is recorded in My Transactions. I used the contact us email form but have gotten no response.

Am I missing something? Anyone experience similar?

PS. Today is her birthday.

OH and I posted this in the wrong place.

We just discussed the issue in chat - and it sounds seriously weird.

Kiva's Transaction history records the depost of Kiva credit, stating the correct positive balance in the right column - as only transaction.

The My Portfolio screen states "Available Kiva Credit: $0.00", though.

I will be very interested to read what KivaCS discovered and advised.

Best wishes, take care,
Wolfgang.

I've contacted Liz about this, since it's time-critical, and she is going to try to contact you and get this resolved today.  I hope it all works out, and a very happy birthday to your wife!  (She has good taste in birth months. Smiley )

Yes, I have.

First Problem:  Today, I made a deposit about 15 minutes ago and my account page too says zero available credit.  However, in my case, the deposit has NOT been recorded in the My Transactions page.

And yesterday, after I made a loan, it took about 1/2 hour for the process to be completed, i.e., for my icon to appear on the loan page.

Second Problem:  Today, I made 3 loans ($75.00 total), but the transactions never went through.  I did, however, receive the PayPal email payment receipt for $75.00. And then latter (about 1 hour), a $75.00 credit did appear in my account.

Note:  AFTER I completed these 3 transactions, I received the $75.00 PayPal email payment receipt, but the 3 transactions were STILL IN MY BASKET. Huh?

This same glitch happened earlier today with another loan.  However, with this transaction, a $25.00 credit appeared in my account about 1/2 hour latter.

I contacted Kiva-Help regarding the second problem and will wait to see if the first problem clears itself up today before I contact them.

I hope your problem clears up today so your wife can receive her gift certificate.

Patricia

UPDATE:  I just checked and the deposit I made earlier today has now been credited to my account.  It took about 1 hour for it to appear.

The computer glitch (?) that still needs to be fixed is why a PayPal receipt is generated, but the loan transactions get stuck in the basket. Huh?

Sidebar:  Yesterday, when I made loans using a MAC, none of these problems occurred except for the slowness in the completion of the transactions.

However, today when I made loans using a PC, these loans got stuck in the basket on two separate occasions.  Hopefully, this information will be of some help in fixing whatever it is that needs fixing. Smiley

Your second problem happened to me today.  It took over half an hour for the credit to reappear and to do the transaction over again.  Since the loans, were like yours, still in my basket!  Thought it was because it was close to midnight PDT.  maybe not?

Well, I guessed from the posts there is a problem.  No
I guessing it on the PayPal side as I wanted to lend with a friend here (Knowing the problem!!), but, still try to add a little, so, I guess I wait.  SOS    I not receive confirmation from PayPal as a routine, so, it look to be a PayPal problem more than Kiva.   Hmmm

I will try and see if I can hold the loan in my Basket until the money come, a first for me, but, I learn.  Wink

Gryzio (or ANY KIVA STAFFERS):

I am also STILL waiting for my KIVA credits to become a PayPal deposit. Can you work your magic for your feline loving friend?

Meow/Thanks!
