Hi!  I'm brand new here!  I don't have a mountain of money, just small hillocks here and there!  So, as I move from hillock to hillock, along the journey there are entrepreneurs that I would like to lend to but can't, because I'm in between hillocks, you see?   Grin

So, I would love it if there were a "shopping cart" of sorts to save entrepreneurs you would like to lend to when you get to the next hillock.  I've tried and tried to find a Peruvian or Bolivian lady that grows chamomile to fund her and can't, and it would've been nice if I could have saved her somewhere to go right back to her and make the loan.

Andrew

Welcome to Kiva Friends, Andrew.

While your idea is interesting, the whole beauty of Kiva is that the poor chamomile grower doesn't have to wait until you get to your next hillock.  There are thousands of us who are already at our next hillock so she can get her needed funds now.

And you, knowing that she got her needed funds quickly, can gladly lend to another worthy entrepreneur when you arrive at your next hillock.

Hi Andrew, and welcome to KivaFriends!

I have bad news that's good news... probably you are referring to Florinda from Peru.

Bad news: You cannot fund Florinda. Good news: Her loan had already been funded by other Kiva lenders (among them KivaFriend Terry) on Sunday.

I agree with your suggestion, though. Bookmarks of some sort would be an improvement to the lending experience. As would be more elabourate sort options (by MFI, a group of MFIs, country, etc.).

In the meantime,* you can always "search" for a keyword - like in your case "chamomile" - by entering it into the box in the top right of Kiva's loan lists (next to the button "Search"). When you search in "Fundraising" loans, this returns no hits at the moment (as the loan you were looking for [I think] is not fundraising anymore; when you search in "All" loans, you find several hits, among them Florinda).

Best wishes, enjoy Kiva and KivaFriends,
wishing you many hillocks,
Wolfgang.

* This could be a rather long "meantime" as Kiva's engineering time seems to be seriously limited and dedicated to other projects right now.

Thanks for your responses!  They are valued and appreciated!  I hope to hear from Keva on the bookmark/shopping cart thing!

Yes!  That's the lady!  I had mixed emotions about lending to her because of the chemical angle and went and lended to someone else, but then it hit me she's not raising cattle or livestock for slaughter (I'm a vegetarian) so I'll lend to her!  Anyway, thank you so much for your replies.
