Hi Kiva and members,

Do we have some means to discuss about "a loan" when it is in "raising" state ? Sometimes i am tempted to lend, but information for the loan (or person) does not make me lend!

For example,
http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=108954&_tpos=1&_tpg=1

information says she can make monthly profit of $95, but is asking for about $75 loan with 14months of repayment term. I think, profit information for this business is incorrect. It would be nice to have some feature where we can insert a short message [ of course with limited number of words to keep system effective ].

Sincerely, Krishna.

Krishna - There are several threads here (at Kiva Friends- not Kiva.org) where questions about loan offerings are raised and discussed.  Sometimes we figure out the answers, sometimes not.

The problem is that most loans don't stay in funding status long enough for any real answers to emerge from Kiva, let alone the MFI Field Partner, before the loan is fully funded.  The loan write-up was prepared sometimes weeks earlier and communication with those on the ground can be spotty at best.

However, you can post your problem loan on Kiva Friends and raise the issue you have.  Often someone will be able to provide good explanations.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your response and suggestions.

We (KIVA and supporters) need to improve inaccuracies and inefficiencies we find in the system, so was my suggestion. It is acceptable to have information inaccurate for many reasons - human error, lack of resources being a non-profit organization, so on. However, we can not use such reasoning to justify inaccurate information and efforts must be made to correct it. Such process, i think will make KIVA even more stronger.

Krishna.
