Aloha!

I simply wanted to inform the powers that be that I have recommended Kiva to one of my banks and the next time I deal with my university credit union I will do the same.

The name of bank I recommend Kiva to is USAA Savings & Loan. I know with near certainty that if Kiva gets promoted on its website that a lot of new members will sign up and get involved in the community. So if others here are USAA members please inform your representative about Kiva next time you talk to them. I dont think my one voice and plea was enough to sway the company but hey you never know. Grin

I will also do the same for my university credit union; as a bonus the art for Kiva is especially appropriate for the credit union.  Tongue

UPDATE:

I have contacted several Internet based communities I belong to and asked them to consider promoting Kiva as well.

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this type of post so if it is not please feel free to move it to a more appropriate location.

Thanks for letting me know. I do all my banking with USAA also, and I'll drop them a note too. I actually have been with them for years (they reimburse $15/month for ATM fees) and have all my insurance, brokerage, etc with them. Great company.

No doubt. USAA is the best! I been a member for over a decade and simply put it ROCKS!

By the way I have also contacted the following businesses and organizations:

Star Dock Corp (The owner is a real progressive person guy)
ARS Technica (A very popular IT & Science news site)
Nvidia Corp (I figured it was worth a shot)
SubSim.com (A pretty cool naval simulation community)
ModCraft.net (A game modification community)

Additionally I plan on contacting DeviantArt.com to ask them about holding some art contests for Kiva as well as promoting the community. Speaking of which Star Dock owns the WinCustomized.com community which I hope will also develop neat Kiva oriented stuff such as desktops user Interface skins and DreamScapes.

Speaking of which, as I find time I want to work on some graphics so I would like a nice high quality version of the official logo if anyone can provide it as well as the official font face.

Oddly enough I tried to do something like this when I was in grad school back in the late 90's and I simply could not pull it off support and tech wise. I am so glad someone else was able to do it.  I also think Kiva use an idea I had for my model and that is lender groups. Where people form an "ohana" (Hawaiian for family)  group and the group leader runs it via community forums.  The groups would be for large single source loans. But I digress...
