Here's a link to the Alexa Traffic Ranking for Kiva.  It's an interesting way to see the ups and downs of Kiva.org website traffic.  Some interesting events that might have affected Kiva traffic are listed below.
Kivapedia now includes many of these items at Kiva Timeline.

What is Reach?
Reach measures the number of users. Reach is typically expressed as the percentage of all Internet users who visit a given site. So, for example, if a site like yahoo.com has a reach of 28%, this means that of all global Internet users measured by Alexa, 28% of them visit yahoo.com. Alexa's one-week and three-month average reach are measures of daily reach, averaged over the specified time period. The three-month change is determined by comparing a site's current reach with its values from three months ago.

Since the chart seems to be sticking around and it's updating itself day by day, I think it would be even more interesting if some of you Kiva historians out there would add a few words of wisdom to help the rest of us interpret this little Kiva "timeline." 

What's that first peak back in the last quarter of 2005 about, the "grand opening"?  What about the three peaks in 2006 before the Frontline story.  It looks like an interesting holiday gift sharing season for 2006-2007.  What's been going on this spring?  And when is that ABC News story coming out so we can watch a new peak in the making?!  Cheesy

Yunus won the Nobel Peace Prize in late 2006, which raised awareness of microlending in general.  Also, the Frontline story was rebroadcast in early 2007.  And there was that CNN story a few weeks ago.

Thanks, Chris.  Do you have an approximate date for the Frontline rebroadcast?

 I moved this to "In The News" because it seems to fit better here.  I'll add more items from this forum, Kiva and elsewhere as time goes by.

I just think of it as a simple way to remember where I left my bookmarks (especially since I use more than one pc)...plus other folks can use them too, if they want.  Wink
