Great spread, Richard! Are those current pictures, or did you search the archives?

Wow, some gorgeous photos (& cool layout).

I know it's not interesting in the sense that it contains miscellaneous feet or strange protrusions, but I'm mesmerised by this photo:

Jardin Atiteca Group, Guatemala - a group of 17 ladies who all weave traditional clothing, & some employ up to 8 people each.  Fully raised now.  I just love the backdrop, the colours of their clothes & their genuine smiles (not to mention the cute little ones).

Dottie, I searched new to old on all loans, then picked some.  This one is available right now!  Smiley

PB, That picture has shown up a few times already!  Thumbs Up  Someone (not me  No) should post it in the calendar topic.  Yes

Richard, I think those two posts would make awesome computer wallpaper...or maybe a screen saver where each picture zooms, drifts, or spins into place.  That would be so cheerful to look at.

The bassoon is one of my favorite instruments. It has the medieval aroma, like the days when everything used to sound like that. Some people crave baseball . . . I find this unfathomable, but I can easily understand why a person could get excited about playing the bassoon.  --- Frank Zappa, 1940-1993

Very impressive, Richard.
I love seeing more than one face at a time, rather than the one-at-a-time
that we generally do
Was that difficult to construct?
Would you mind sharing?
I'd love to put some of the pictures of my own loans up on my macbook desktop,
it you think you could explain how you did it.

Geez.... I'm not having a baby tonight. Why can't *I* sleep???

Mousie, I'll play around with some things this weekend as far as wallpaper dimensions go.  Smiley

Ann, Fluffy's mom wouldn't even let me try to figure out the biggest size I could arrange the pictures like that, but I managed to do it anyway!  Tongue

Here's a summary of how I did it using Internet Explorer as my web browser (your mileage may vary).

The basic idea is to add 12 image links to the mosaic template.  It's sized to put a 4X4 mosaic into a Kiva Friends discussion topic viewed at a 1024 by 768 screen resolution.

The mosaic template starts here.

The mosaic template ends here.

  • Click the Quote link on this post and copy the mosaic template.
  • Paste the template into your new post.
  • Put twelve image links inside the template.  The example here changes each "[" & "]" to "{" & "}" so you can see the layout.
    {img width=185}The image link goes here (no spaces){/img}
  • Pictures from the Kiva LEND page work very well.
    • Right-click on a picture.
    • Click on Properties at the bottom of the menu.
    • Note. "Dimensions: 200 x 150 pixels" works very well.
    • Copy the "Address (URL):" e.g., http://kiva.s3.amazonaws.com/img/w200h200/169981.jpg
    • Paste the picture address into an open spot in the mosaic.
  • When it looks great, save it!

And there you have it!  Yes Smiley
