Oooh thanks.
While I was trying unsuccessfully to get sleepy last night, I did a cut and paste job with my Keynote program, but so far all I've done is put all my active loans on several pages -- haven't shrunk them down, just put three or four to a page -- and then put one on every page. It was something to do. I didn't even know I *had* those programs. Fun.

I thought about posting this photo earlier, but wasn't sure where to put it. Perhaps the film was poorly exposed or just taken in strange lighting conditions, but the effect, especially on the woman's face, made it look rather picturesque - as you say, like a painting. Doan Thi Tuyen - Viet Nam (funded) http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=53126&_tpos=1&_tpg=1Must say, I love your pic even more, though. Something about the lighting on the man's face like that, & that back wall is very striking.

Where today are the Pequot? Where are the Narragansett, the Mohican, the Pokanoket, and many other once powerful tribes of our people? They have vanished before the avarice & the oppression of the White Man, as snow before a summer sun. Will we let ourselves be destroyed in our turn without a struggle, give up our homes, our country bequeathed to us by the Great Spirit, the graves of our dead & everything that is dear & sacred to us? I know you will cry with me, "Never! Never!"---Tecumseh of the Shawnees "They made us many promises, more than I can remember, but they never kept but one; they promised to take our land, & they took it."---Mahpiua Luta (Red Cloud) of the Oglala Sioux

When a picture looks like that, it was saved at one point as a "gif" format with 256 colors or so. The color detail is lost from what it would have been in an image format like "jpg."
