Hi,

I stumbled upon the registration page to Kivafriends. The terms still state that

1. Kiva is an organization that only lends to developing third-world countries. If you are in the USA and are looking for loan, Kiva is not the place to get one. However, there are other web sites and services available for similar person-to-person lending in the States. Prosper.com is a popular one that has gotten some major press.

Perhaps an update is in order.

and welcome to Kiva Friends! Glad you found your way here and thanks for your first post!

This is cross-posting a reply by Diane to a similar question raised/suggestions made in the US loans topic:

...I'd like to say on behalf of the moderating team that we are aware of this inconsistency and if we had the ability to change it, we would have done so.  The site administrator, Joe, has not been available much lately, but it is (obviously!) on our list of things we'd like him to change ASAP.
