Richard Loayza Alatta, age 22, lives in his mother’s house. She supports him in everything, and she sometimes works on the farms. They live in the Los Pollitos neighborhood in Cachiche-Ica. He is a mototaxi (three wheeled motorized vehicle) driver. Four years ago he rented a mototaxi, and he worked with it daily from 6:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Now he has been able to finance his own mototaxi. This generates greater income, which he can use to help his mother.

He is asking for a loan because his house fell with the earthquake. The state is currently giving vouchers for the damages, but they need to make a deposit in a financial institution as a down payment. He wants to make his mother’s dream of having a house from sturdy material come true. He is a very responsible person who enjoys good references from his neighbors.

Cordova Saldaña Marlid is 22, and she lives in Asentamiento Oscar Sánchez Dulanto near Ica. She lives with her husband, a “mototaxi” (three wheeled motorized vehicle) driver. They have a three year old son, and they live in her mother’s house. She is a field worker. They have built part of the house they were given. They were given the house because they were left without a house due to the earthquake. They are getting ahead once again.

She sells soft drinks and mineral water at the Puente Blanco and Divino Maestro-Ica (South Pan-American) crossing. She has been selling in the summertime for four years. In the winter she works in the field. She is a very responsible person. The couple wants us to help them so that she is able to invest more in the business and improve their house at the same time. Her goal is to give her son a better quality of life.
