Mr. Higinio is 58 years old, and is married to Mrs. Lina.  She is a housewife while Mr. Higinio is a taxi driver and retired from IPS (Social Security Institute).  He began working as a taxi driver in 2006 in the Mcal Estigarribia c/ Ingavi Route.

At present, Mr. Higinio has another vehicle besides the taxi; he needs the loan to make repairs to the second vehicle and use it as a taxi as well.

Mr. Higinio’s biggest dream is to be able to finish building his modest home as well as being able to cover the costs of his youngest son’s education.

[Higinio may be a person who provides employment in his community -- the second taxi may be for renting out to another driver to use.  But I chose to post the loan here, on account of his aspiration to pay for his son's education.  Hopefully, he has a pension from his government job in addition to earnings from his taxis, that will allow him to realize his goals.]

Sukhbaatar is 58 years old and lives with his wife, son and daughter in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. His family lives in a small house in the outer ger districts of the city. His son works at a local trade center and his daughter attends public school. Sukhbaatar is a professional driver, having worked at a local auto company from 1975 to 1997.

Sukhbaatar has been supporting his family by operating a taxi business for the past thirteen years. In 1998, he started his business using an old Russian car called a Moskvich. During the past thirteen years, he has been able to gradually improve his living conditions and has gained a lot of experience. He is planning to sell his old car and purchase another secondhand car, due to safety regulations for transportation. He is requesting a 3,000,000 MNT loan to purchase the car. His goal is to improve his daughter’s education by paying her education costs.

"39 year-old Linner [...] is married and has three children aged 15, 13 and 7. Her two eldest are in high school and her youngest is in elementary school. Her husband is a driver. Linner is in her eighth semester of a degree in medicine at the Universidad Técnica de Manabí"

I have no Kiva money left this month and swore blind I wasn't going to put any more new money in.  But, pray tell me, how could I not loan to Linner?  What a lady!  She's 39 years old, has three kids, and is pursuing a degree in medicine.  I bow down at her feet in total respect!

Here's a cool loan story from Colombia:

Jairo visited us and told us that he is very happy because his daughter Jaisa is about to start her third semester at university and this is thanks to Kiva lenders who have supported him with this his third Kiva loan. They will almost certainly help him until his daughter becomes a successful professional. Jairo says that his daughter is an excellent student and deserves all the effort that her family is making to ensure she has successful future. He says that the Kiva loan is a reward for people who have been working with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo for some time and that this is very good.
