Hi all,
I am new here, and not sure how this all works yet, but it was nice to see something good on the news tonight. Like many others, before tonight, I had not heard of KIVA. Finally a place where I could do something and feel like I might make a difference. After the story aired I went directly to my computer and headed for the webpage. I must of been one of many as the Kiva loan site was temporarily down.
I havent had a chance to actually see how it works and or how easy it will be to use.
It will be nice to be able to see where and what your loan/donation will be used for.
How great is it that $25.00 can make a difference in someones life.
You are not expected to make a payment every week or month, you choose how much you can spend and who it is given to. I am excited with the whole concept and as soon as the site is back up will be looking into making a loan.
I hope I dont sound like a wacko, really I am not.  Grin

If you are looking for someone to make a loan to some other members of the community have posted link to people they are supporting now so please feel free to join them.  Tongue

I just wanted to let you all know I finally made my first loan last night. It went to a 38 year old that sells kitchen supplies in Iraq. It was hard making a choice, I wanted to give to everyone. I looked tonight and it seems that his loan total was funded. That is so awesome!! I am sure that I will do more in the future, maybe not everyone, I do have limits.
It just made me feel good to give even if it was only a little.

Kady, congratulations on the first loan. I still remembee how exciting it was, an it still it for every loan I make.
