Hey, now that team lending is about a year old, I was curious to see just how far into teams everyone is.

I'm the captain of Team Japan...started out with no expectations....today we are at 333 members, 2080 loans, $58,350, average 6.25 loans per member....I am very proud of us! One of my goals as captain is to leave a message for the team every day, in both English and Japanese. Sometimes it's just one line: good job, slow day, credit soon. Sometimes it's a link to a Kiva.org blog or sharing something from Kiva Friends....lately a tweet from Matt. Once in awhile, a non-English speaking member will ask a question about something on Kiva and I try hard to get the information to them in Japanese....if necessary, I use contactus if I don't know the answer.

It is such fun  Yahoo!

I also belong to the Kiva Captains team...a good source of information....always great to hear about what is happening on other teams.

Being a big fan of both Greg Mortensen and 3 Cups of Tea (read the book twice and have given away a number of copies) and a supporter of Women For Women International, I belong to both teams. When I get credit, I find a loan for Afghanistan or Pakistan for the 3 Cups team and a loan from one of the following countries where I have sisters I support through WFWI: Nigeria, Afghanistan or Rwanda.

Again, always wonderful to be able to communicate with like minded Friends

Looking forward to what other KFs have to say about their teams.... Thank You Scott, for starting this thread!

I didn't think I would join teams and now find I am on far too many Smiley

Some are fan teams for favourite MFI's.  Some are for specific loan purposes (potatoes and agriculture or single parents etc)  and some are teams started for various other reasons (such as Three Cups of Tea or the Tisket team).  I like the team work to encourage others members to lend, but I don't like some of the competition that has grown and so have mostly stopped lending if people just want to raise the ###s or $$$s.

The most exciting thing to come about is our local Calgary team that I posted about here...
http://www.kivafriends.org/index.php/topic,3395.0.html
and I can't wait for our next get-together in September.
