is it possible that you changed the treatment of "Manual" transactions at some point between v2.01 and v2.04?

I didn't think that I made any changes to that, but there is always the law of unintended consequences.

No.  I just was looking some more.  Finca Peru doesn't show up there either.  I am going to run it now and see if anything improves

edit:  ran the spreadsheet for all activity before today and it now has put in Finca Peru on all pages!

One good thing (probably the only good thing) about having a 90-minute trip to the office is that there is plenty of time to look at problems such as this.

The problem Wolfgang is having is another side-effect of the change that Kiva made to the transaction export file.

The macros look at each "unrecognised" transaction in the export file and try to find a "corresponding" transaction on the "My Extra Transactions" tab.  To be a "corresponding" transaction both the amount and the date have to match.  Kiva changed the date (now includes a time), so no transactions match any more.

v2.05 will include a change so that transactions are deemed to be "corresponding" transactions if the amount is the same and the date/time field is within a 24 hour range.

None of my loans from Finca Peru are registering on the "loans" tab as such.  But only "unknown partner"

The only way that I can see that that will happen is if the partner details are not correctly downloaded (which the macros do when they first start running, providing they haven't already downloaded those details anytime in the previous 12 hours) but the individual loan details are downloaded correctly.

Thus it's possible that, if a network connectivity error occurs while the partner details are being accessed but then fixes itself by the time it is trying to access the loan details, the situation you are describing could occur.  (Although hopefully it will be very rare.)

I have made a change in v2.05 to download the partner details every time that the macros are run, and also to use the partner details from the loan export file if the partner details can't be accessed directly from Kiva.  Hopefully that will make the problems even rarer.

Version 2.05

I have just updated the spreadsheet and attached it to the first post in this thread.


This version incorporates the following changes:

• When matching "manual" transactions against transactions in the "My Extra Transactions" tab, the date will be deemed to match if it is within a 24 hour range.  This caters for the fact that Kiva is now including time information in the transaction export, but people have previously only been entering the date itself in the extra transactions.
• Partner details will be refreshed every time the macros are run, rather than only if they hadn't been refreshed within the last 12 hours.
• If no corresponding partner details can be accessed on Kiva for a particular loan, the partner details from the loan export file will be used.
