There are quite a few housing loans currently available in Afghanistan, like this one: http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=146421&_tpos=1&_tpg=1The only annoying part is that a lot of them are listed as 'personal use' or 'construction', making them slightly harder to find. This one, I think, should definitely count as a 'housing' loan, since that's where most of the bricks will be going - no point in lending people money to build their houses if they've nothing to build them with! http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=145166&_tpos=3&_tpg=2And finally, one for all the gamers out there. I'm a lifetime gamer, and his shirt just plain made me smile. Gamer, and a housing loan? Oh yes. http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=142215&_tpos=1&_tpg=1

Those are definitely good loans! For all I don't bathe as often as I perhaps should, I'd be lost without the ability to just jump in the shower whenever I needed to, never mind the rest of what we use a bathroom for!

"Our daughters can contribute just as much to society as our sons, and our common prosperity will be advanced by allowing all humanity - men and women - to reach their full potential. I do not believe that women must make the same choices as men in order to be equal, and I respect those women who choose to live their lives in traditional roles. But it should be their choice. That is why the United States will partner with any Muslim-majority country to support expanded literacy for girls, and to help young women pursue employment through micro-financing that helps people live their dreams." - President Barack Obama, June 4, 2009

I'm posting this loan here since it is a housing improvement loan, but it could also apply to the Single Parents or Disabled Persons team. It's also almost an education loan..... Yamilex Del Socorro Aguilar PerezYamilix, 30, works in the Human Resources department of the Nueva Guinea campus of URACCAN University. She is a single mother of a 9-year-old son, who is in 4th grade. She has worked for the university for 3 years. She currently is living with her elderly parents, whom she cares for and helps out with everything in her ability. Yamilex is studying for her masters degree in university education. Her greatest wish is to be an experienced professional. She is known in her town for being very hard-working, responsible, of good habits, and very sociable. She is asking for her 9th loan, which will be used to pay for the installation of flooring in a room and to make some other improvements that are needed so that it will be in better condition thus gradually improving the home's infrastructure for the benefit of her parents and her son.Nicaragua, 4* AFODENIC, 26 month loan with currency risk covered.
