Calling all SF Bay Area KivaFriends: our very own Mona and her husband Oliver will be in our area in just 10 days, and we're planning to meet up at the Kiva offices in San Francisco on Thursday, Sept. 10, for an afternoon tour starting sometime after 2pm and an ice cream social at 3pm-ish.  There's a plan to walk to dinner afterwards, and then see the film, "Pray the Devil Back to Hell", which starts at 7pm.

If you'll be in the area and would like to join us for any or all of the day's proceedings, please let me know by Monday the 7th so we know to expect you, can include you in the directions/plans emails, and know how much ice cream to arrange for!  Mona is rightfully excited about this trip, and the 10th should be a great opportunity to get together and meet each other *and* some Kiva staffers.  Will you join us?

excited,
--Diane.

Sounds like great fun - wish I could join you but it will have to wait, at least until 'next time' - so you'll just have to have some extra fun and send it to me down here in Southern California!!

I will be there!  I've already ordered my ticket for the movie.  I was already planning on going, and then you said the two magic words:  ice cream!   Grin

Good day,

This is exciting news!  I too would like to join.  I'm not sure if I can make it to the film, but I would love to join you all for ice cream and dinner.

Thank you!  I'm really looking forward to meeting all you good people!  Hurrah

If anyone wants more info on the film, it is "Pray the Devil Back to Hell," a documentary about the key role womens peace groups played in creating peace in Liberia.
The trailer can be viewed at: http://www.praythedevilbacktohell.com/v3/

Tickets can be purchased at: http://www.fortmason.org/boxoffice
and are $25 + $5 fees, benefitting Women for Women International, and including "wine and cheese" according to the email from WfW.

Good day,

I contacted a member from the Disabled Persons Team who also lives in the Bay Area, and he too would like to join the get-together on Thurday, September 10th.

I will contact Kerry latter with the specifics.  Thank you.

Patricia

Also, he wanted to know if he can post this event on the LOTUS Team page.
