I've taken over the responsibilities of Kiva's MySpace page from the previous volunteer who has moved on. The MySpace community currently has over 5,700 friends. If you're on MySpace, send a request!

Hopefully a lot of those folks will slowly migrate over here for a better organized/spam-free discussion about Kiva. It'll also be a nice place to plug our future projects and contests. Smiley

If you haven't already thought of this, you might want to put 'thanks for the add' to the friends comment pages with a link to KIVA.  I do this for garb the world and it gets hits and increases our friends.

(this is supposed to be an example not a shameless plug for my business)

That's the first thing I did, actually Smiley With the 200 or so pending requests that were waiting. I've got a program that approved them and left a "Thanks for supporting Kiva!" comment on their page. That alone spawned more requests from people that might have not heard of Kiva, so it's a nice cycle that should pay off.

Myrlia Purcell of Look to the Stars suggested we contact celebrities with MySpace pages and tell them about Kiva.  Has anyone tried that?  Sent them a gift certificate?

I've "friended" various A, B, C and Z list celebrities on there. They add us to their list, which is nice, but don't really say anything other than that. Of course I haven't had the time to follow up with everyone and see who is really interested or just building their list.

That Look to the Stars site is very cool.  Smiley

What about the D-List?  I'm thinking Kathy Griffin should be good for a loan or two!  Grin

Great job on the page!

Glad to see that Kiva is using all of the media tools out there!

Sincerely,

David Cox
