Thanks, Henry, I take your point....
about KIVAFriends conversations not Always having to be about Kiva....

Me having acted like I thought that
may just be a reflection of my having started to feel
somewhat -- how about, like totally-out-of-control APPALLED,
at how much time I've been spending in front of this (little computer) machine
in the last couple of months -- ever since I discovered KIVAFriends.

If I tell myself I'm writing about Kiva-related things,
I get to delude myself that I'm doing something "serious" Huh?
   and not something time-screwing-around-frivolous,
which is how I spend a lot of my other time.   Smiley Smiley
   Very silly, I know.

You'd think that that was my Protestant/Puritan work ethic kicking in,
     except that I'm Jewish....

The fact is, because I have such a strange mind, anyway,
that sees and makes connections between the oddest things,
that same mind seems able to connect Kiva with everything else in the world, anyway,
so I find my own answer to my silly dilemma.

Anyway, the reason I came here at 5 something, this morning,
was to grab the URL/address of this thread, because I was planning
on diverting the conversation I started on Tennessee, especially, Memphis Barbecue
to this thread and away from the
Mark Agwonah, We Hardly Knew Ye thread
http://www.kivafriends.org/index.php/topic,728.0.html
where that conversation has taken on a life of its own.

Jill, I'm pretty sure that is uncarded wool (or whatever it's called before it's spun out into skeins for knitting).  Any knitters in the crew to verify?

Just happened to see this at Google News-- posted on the USA Today site:

Thought it was the kind of essential information you all probably couldn't live without...

A man flew from Peru to New York (via Florida) with a tiny monkey hidden under his hat,
according to the Associated Press, which says
other passengers noticed the marmoset when it climbed out on the man's pony tail in the middle of the flight.

The well-behaved monkey spent the rest of the trip sitting next to the man,

Later on in the article, some government person said reassuringly
that it wasn't a National Security Issue (you think?).

I feel a lot safer now for their having said that, don't you?

Okay, five more minutes -- then the computer is going into the pond and
I'm off to see what's going on out there
in the "real" world....
