As you might have noticed during the last months the loans that come into trouble of expiring on Kiva show mostly a specific pattern. With very few exceptions - most of them are e. g. group loans from Bolivia, single borrowers from Azerbaijan, borrowers looking for housing loans and similar ones. From my feeling the number of expiring loans is unfortunately not getting smaller but bigger from month to month. With the LLL team and Kivafriends we have already a great bunch of dedicated people who are willing to help. But it would of course be better to broaden this circle of helpers.

Therefore I would like to set up a list of teams that are specialized on loans that are most likely to come into danger of expiring and that can be asked for help in times of need. I will try to add some of them here myself during the next days, but would be happy if you could add also some. And it would of course be great if you could give these teams that come to your mind already a short info of the current running out of loans specific for their lending scheme.

In case one of these teams shows dislike of being contacted for this purpose I would recommend to also add here a note so that we would not bother them a second time.

If you want to give the teams a short link sorting all loans in order of "expiring soon" you can use this one: http://tinyurl.com/n7r5jw

The first team I have contacted today is

MFIs
Angkor Mikroheranhvatho Kampuchea (AMK) Fan Club

Mona, the group I passed the loan on to earlier today, is Ravelry. Their focus is on handcrafts; particularly knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving, sewing, etc. They're also fond of sheep and llamas. Grin

Thanks, Judi! With the ones I have contacted in the meantime we have so far (to be continued):

MFIs
Afodenic: Amigos de Afodenic
AMK: Angkor Mikroheranhvatho Kampuchea (AMK) Fan Club

Countries
Azerbaijan: Supporters of Azerbaijan
Bolivia: Team Bolivia

Special interests
Crafts: Ravelry.com (handcrafts, particularly knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving, sewing, etc., also fond of sheep and llamas)

P.s.: I have created for some of these teams short links that show alll loans within their lending scheme in order expiring soon first. If you want to do something similar go to http://tinyurl.com/. Type the long URL into the form and press "Make TinyURL!". E.g. all current loans from Azerbaijan: Long link: http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&queryString=Azerbaijan&status=fundRaising&gender=All&sectors[]=All&regions[]=All&sortBy=Expiring+Soon; Short link: http://tinyurl.com/yasp4f9

Mona, first of all, fantastic idea  Thumbs Up

Are you joining the group and posting a message? or are you contacting the team captain first?

There is a loan to the Rukiri 2 Group in Uganda through Pearl which still has $1000 left and will expire within 5 days.
I found a group called Friends of Pearl Microfinance Limited (53 members) who we may be able to ask for help, we might be able to add them to the list?

I had been a member to one of these teams before and the others were open teams so I just joined them and posted my message. As I have specified my messages to exactly the lending scheme of the teams I don't think anyone will mind. Otherwise I will learn soon.  Smiley

So please feel free to contact the Pearl team yourself (and also of course to add teams to this thread yourself!). The specific loan needs still nearly $900 so every helping hand is welcome. What I can say so far is that minimum 1 loan has been funded with the help of one of the teams I had written to. And this means one loan less in danger.  Thumbs Up

I've sent a message to the Pearl team  Smiley

I have been trawling through the loans to expire within 5 days and so far have come up with some more groups. Even though most of them have hardly any members, I will send a message to all of these teams as every little bit counts  Smiley

**PERU**
MFI Teams:
--> Fans of EDAPROSPO (5 members)
12 EDAPROSPO loans expire within 5 days, to view them sorted by expiring soon first: http://tinyurl.com/yz8o3sa
e.g. Vecinos Unidos Group - 5 days and $3,000 remaining

--> Manuela Ramos (8 members)
28 Manuela Ramos loans expire within 5 days, to view them sorted by expiring soon first: http://tinyurl.com/yhnh7z9
e.g. Ruth Rios De Monsalve - 5 days and $1,000 remaining.

Country teams:
--> Kiva Peru (28 members)
40 Peru loans expire within 5 days, to view them sorted by expiring soon first: http://tinyurl.com/yzmerhp

--> Team Peru (6 members)
40 Peru loans expire within 5 days, to view them sorted by expiring soon first: http://tinyurl.com/yzmerhp

**AZERBAIJAN**
Country teams:
Azerbaijan (3 members)
21 Azerbaijan loans expire within 5 days, to view them sorted by expiring soon first: http://tinyurl.com/yk3j5hr

Azerbaijan Entrepreneurship Initiative (3 members)
21 Azerbaijan loans expire within 5 days, to view them sorted by expiring soon first: http://tinyurl.com/yk3j5hr

I also thought about other teams which aren't related to a specific region or MFI. For example: there may be team captains who read our message and forward it on to their group (Team Captains), many of the expiring loans are agriculture loans (KF - Agriculture loans) and many of the loans are to women (women cheering women and women empowering women). Hence the list of teams below. Please let me know what you think about contacting these teams below before I do so. I'm sure there are many other groups like these we could contact as well.

**SPECIAL INTERESTS**
Team Captains (189 members)
KF - Agriculture loans  (228 members)
Women cheering women (47 members)
women empowering women (903 members)

I originally started joining large numbers of teams for this purpose, and especially the large teams.  Atheists, Christians, GLBT, etc.  It does help if there is some natural affinity for the loan you are posting about.

Also, another nice thing, especially the larger ones, perhaps, is make the loan for that team before sending the message, so it shows on their team page.  I don't know if that makes a difference or not, but if you're loaning anyway, it can't hurt, and it makes your message seem less like spam, if you're joining the team only for the purpose of sending the message.
