This idea would be to give the 'choice' of picking the loan to a friend or relative to get them interested in KIVA while the PRINCIPLE remains the property of the giver.  (are those real words?)

* Yes, I can just buy in their name...but that doesn't create the need for the giftee to open a KIVA account*

Also, with the Choice gift cards the giftee will have to register an account, learn about kiva, and this will show in their account, but also show under a different heading in the actual principle's owner account.  This might also be something useful to Groups.

Boy, that could be complicated, But I'd be willing to give a few out to friends and family cause in the end.... I get to use the money again on KIVA or in life.

I like the idea, Henry. Smiley  Maybe as a starting point for Kiva to program into the system in this direction, they could make reversionary gift cards. These would be the same as the current gift cards, but the payback would be deposited into the original givers account.

'Reversionary' I have to admit, your the first person to ever use that word in front of me.  I like it, I love the idea as well.

KIVA*  maybe you could partner with AMAZINGMAIL.COM (another company i use often) to do the following:
1.  allow us the easy option of mailing out for a small fee the photo and description of someone we loaned too, this would go to someone we loaned in honor of, or just wanted to share with.
2.  print and send the gift certificate, well, it is a postcard so the number would be viewable, maybe that won't work .... or maybe there is a way around that someone could figure out.

Just another item to blot down on your 'possible ten thousand things we might do' list.

*** click my name, click my lender page, click the picture - see a possible 1st postcard ...picture will change after June 26, 07 ***

This is a good idea! It would be interesting to see if this could get adopted some time down the line.
