Hi all,

Naomi Baer, Kiva's Translation Program Manager, is looking for people who can volunteer to translate Russian, Vietnamese, or Spanish language loan write-ups into English. See the description below.

If you have any questions, please email her or me directly, or post in this thread if it is in the general interest. I'll get back to you as soon as I can...

This is an exciting opportunity to put your skills to best use. And it gives you yet another reason to read those loans in more detail! SO... BE A WINNER. SIGN UP!

Kiva is currently building a volunteer Vietnamese translation team for two new field partners from Vietnam, and we are looking to add new translators to our Spanish and Russian teams. The translation and editing teams currently have over 150 volunteers, but we are continuing to grow. We have just recently starting translating Russian, and our Spanish team has been growing rapidly as well.

Volunteer translators need strong reading skills in the source language and good writing skills in English, and we ask for a minimum of 8 hours/month of time.

Please email spanish@kiva.org, vietnamese@kiva.org, or russian@kiva.org. Include your resume, if you
have one handy, the number of hours you're available, and in the subject line, include Kivafriends - I think we're likely to get some great volunteers through you and your networks, so we'd like to be able to spot those incoming emails easily. Details and additional languages we may need in the future can be found on Kiva's Get Involved page: http://www.kiva.org/about/opportunities/

We particularly welcome Kivafriends to join the team, and would greatly appreciate it if you
would also let your friends with these language skills know about Kiva!

Thanks very much,

Naomi

Gracias por las respuestas.

Quiero saber si existe algún voluntario que ya ha hecho las traducciones en castellano para Kiva y podría contar las experiencias ? Gracias!

Bonjour! Y a-t-il quelqu'un qui a fait les traductions en français et voudrait raconter des expériences? Merci!

I am a Vietnamese American, a Kiva member. I speak, read, write and have college degrees in both Vietnamese and English and I have plenty of time. I would like to apply for the Vietnamese-English translation volunteer position. Please contact me: ngungo@tetet.net

Thanks for the opportunity,

Welcome to KivaFriends, ngungo! Kiva has a specific email address for Vietnamese language volunteers. You can mail your application to vietnamese@kiva.org.
