Congrats ngungo, great work!  Kiva's translators are all highly valued--your contributions are very necessary...it must feel great being able to really be a part of their team in ways outside of lending.

Anyone here able to translate a text in Vietnamese? I got an loan update today that read:

Hai con của chị học hành chăm chỉ và phụ với mẹ chăn ḅ nhưng hiện tại chưa bán và ḅ cũng chưa đẻ. Chị có 2 sào ḿ nhưng năm nay ḿ rớt giá thê thảm nên cuộc sống gia đ́nh sẽ vất vả hơn. Gia đ́nh trả vốn đều, đầy đủ

Google translate makes of this:

Two of her study hard and extra blankets for mother but are not currently being sold and is not tongue. Only 2 stars bread but this year rớt bread cost catastrophic to life family will be more hard. Family's capital are, full of enough Vietnamese

Would be very nice to find out what it really means.  Cheesy

Cheers,
Mona

Laugh Mona... you might want to try the translation Vietnamese => German, too - sometimes it gives a small clue to what might be meant.
Anyways, I have two more of these (Becky is on these loans, too) - so if someone would be so kind... Wink

Nuôi gà có lăi
Con trai út của chị năm nay học lớp 10 và rất chăm học, gia đ́nh hiện tại vẫn b́nh thường. Thấy nuôi gà có hiệu quả nên gia đ́nh nuôi thêm 50 con nữa sẽ bán trong dịp tết. Gia đ́nh trả vốn đều, đầy đủ

Translated as:
Raising chickens has interest
Út son's school this year 10 and studying hard, family is still in normal. Look raising chickens effectively foster family should add 50 more will be sold in the Tet festival. Family's capital are, in full

and:

Làm ăn khá mua được xe máy
Hiện tại gia đ́nh anh đă mua được xe máy nhờ chịu khó làm ăn, gà nuôi phát triển khá nhờ anh nuôi gà mái đẻ và tiếp tục giữ lại làm giống ấp bán cho bà con trong vùng. Cháu nhỏ đau khớp nay cũng bớt nhiều. ( Thu nhập b́nh quân 250.000 đ/ tháng ). Gia đ́nh trả vốn đều, đầy đủ

Translated as:
Doing quite buy motorcycles
Currently the family, he purchased the motorcycle suffered through hard work, raising chickens developed through his breeding hen birth and continue to keep doing the same village for sale in the region. You small joint pain is also much less. (Income to average 250,000 per month). Family's capital are, in full

I can guess what some of it means, but I would just love to know...
Best wishes,
Wolfgang.

PS: At least it's good to hear from Mekong Plus since both loans are almost two months delinquent, now.  Sad
