NEW PROJECT enthusiam alert!

Hi fellow kiva addicts...

I've been very busy, but I have continued lending all podcast proceeds to Kiva each month since we started the KivaThon in March. I haven't had much time to come here and I wonder how Julia's doing, haven't heard a peep from her? The Agents of Change ride is over, hope that went well.

Anyway, while I was starting some other TV channels it suddenly occurred to me that with so much existing video out there on YouTube, I could keep a channel running on Kiva.org all the time.

Thanks to Mogulus.com (currently in closed beta) we have the technology to do it and we can do live TV events as well. I need to have a talk with those of you who do video and might be interested in either contributing you own short videos or doing something live with me on KivaTV.

I'm adding videos right now, so it may not be working as it should if you catch this right away, but try again later if you don't see anything.

Please contact me off list if you want to propose your assistance or videos for this project. If nothing else, please TELL YOUR FRIENDS, spread the URL around!

To reach me write to my 'pseudo' in this forum @ talkathon.org

Regards,

randulo

ps, who's up for another Talkathon with live TV from around the world?

If you can do live video, please sign up for the mogulus beta and let me know what name your signed up for, I may be able to speed things up so you can be a part of the KivaTV team.

This must be a domain name problem. For some reason, it worked here very quickly. I'm watching it now.
Please try again when you can.

Fixed the link. I never looked at profile after filling it out.

The Kiva TV link is working for me. Looks great, Randulo!

I've got a new link to add to the top of the page now Smiley

hmmmm......   so when I click on the kivaTV link up top, it takes me to a page with an orange TV screen, top left says "kiva tv" it tunes in for a second or two then I hear as much as I could ever want to here or know about Asterisk.com/ Asteriskgui / and telephone systems.  It won't allow me to change the channel or anything, could my antivirus program be keeping this from working?

SOLVED: There was an extra tag in there (bad cut and paste, bad) that only certain browsers were seeing. Mea Culpa! Fixed.

(To all) Video of this kind has plenty of problems. You need the latest Flash 9 plugin, plenty of bandwidth (my guess is at least 2Mb/s connection to even see the videos).

The current Kivatv.org channel may not have anything you haven't seen before and you can't change channels or videos on it. It really is for people who don't know anything about Kiva or microlending and have a moment to zap over and see "what's playing". Just another road to Rome if you will.

I just found Kiva TV and wondered if anyone watches it any more.  I thought there might be some other newbies out there like me that would like to check it out.  I have embedded it in my facebook where it's easy to turn on and let run - and maybe my friends will check it out.

There are two choices: on-demand and on-air.
I enjoyed the only on-demand - a 1hr54min clip - even though some of it I had seen in other locations.
The on air choice appears to be a continuous loop.
Looks like another good way for me to introduce Kiva to new lenders - the news is old but still relevant.
