I suggested this as a fun activity on the "Most KivaFriends on a Loan" thread, but thought I'd break it out separately here since I'm sure there must be some that should lay claim to the title.  Leaving aside US states, what's the maximum number of non-US countries you can find participating on a loan? The most I can find so far is 6, can you find one with more? (Not the number of participants, but distinct countries.)

I started by finding the Mario Apaza family, with 6 (Sweden, Canada, Antarctica, Italy, Norway, UK -- but the guy in Antarctica actually lives in the US most of the time Smiley so it might only count for 5).

I have since found the following:

Felipa Salvador Perez with 6 (Belgium, Australia, Denmark, Canada, UK, Switzerland).

Bramwel Inya Omusugu with 6 (Italy, France, Germany, Bermuda, Canada, Japan).

Namik Ismayilov with 6 (Belgium, Ireland/UK, France, Czech Republic, Australia, Italy) -- but only because Antrim is in Northern Ireland which is part of the UK.

Zziwa Awuor with 6 (Canada, Luxembourg, UK, Belgium, Japan, Germany).

Can you find more 6-countries-other-than-the-US loans, or better yet, some 7- or 8-country loans?  Smiley

I found another 6-country loan:

Faalaniga Penaia with 6 (Holland, Germany, New Zealand, Belgium, Australia, UK).

and there's one still open with 6 countries already, which might also end up a "winner" Smiley:

Tran Thi Khanh with 6 so far (Canada, France, Hong Kong, Germany, Sweden, UK) and her $1,200 loan currently only 2/3 funded.

Any others?

And New South Wales and Victoria are both in Australia, so no cigar for this one.

This isn't a "go search for it" game, it's a "when you come across it, you might notice it and post" sort of game.  Smiley Meant to be FUN, not HARD!

OK, Tran Thi Khanh's original loan, which was in the running for "maybe more than 6 non-US countries on the loan", was refunded yesterday (the original listing misquoted the repayment terms which can't be changed after it's closed, so rather than assume the lenders were OK with a different term, they re-listed it). And the relisting closed, and.... we have a big winner!

Tran Thi Khanh with 7 (Germany, France, Sweden, Australia, Netherlands, Canada, India).

Can we beat seven non-US countries on a loan?

Today I found another 7-country loan, to Romao Casimiro Tembe, a fisherman and rancher in Mozambique.

Australia, Germany, Austria, UK, Sweden, France, Denmark. (Plus 15 US States.)
