I first heard about Kiva while watching Oprah on Thanksgiving Day 2007 with my family.

I first heard (read) about Kiva in the fall of 2006 while researching various aspects of microenterprise on the internet.  Our daughter was getting her masters and was intrigued with its development as a way to help alleviate poverty.  We were learning along with her.
