I would really like to loan to someone in Laos, but I can't seem to find anyone from that country. Does Kiva lend there (and if not, why not)? Can you sort by country that you'd like to lend to? How do I find someone from Laos who wants a loan?

Hello Linda, and welcome to Kiva Friends!

At this time Kiva does not have a Field Partner in Laos, and I have heard no rumors of them becoming active anytime soon.  However, new Field Partners are added every year, so please do check back either here or with Kiva.

The easiest way to filter by country on Kiva is to enter the country in the search box.  You will only see fundraising loans unless you change the filter to "all" loans, so if there are not currently loans funding from that country you may not see anything listed.

Again welcome,  and I hope you are able to find loans that interest you outside of Laos until such time as they are added.

At the 17:17 mark you will find that Kiva is actively pursuing a potential Field Partner in Laos.
