I was really thinking about this question, but then I saw the "POLL" option and wanted to play!   Let's see if you find this, and answer it.

Somewhere there is a poll waiting for an answer!  Can you find it?

Hey, I like the choice "Click View the most recent posts on the forum." but I can't figure out how to have that one.  Sad

It seems like I have to go to each of the separate areas first, e.g. The Lounge, Suggestions, Kiva Loans etc.

Your wish is my command!

Go to KIVAFriends at this page:  http://www.kivafriends.org/   then scroll down to the bottom, and you will see the "see the most recent post on the forum" button

EDIT:  oh yeah, and if you loose your place, just click on the Big KIVAFriends at the top of the page and it takes you back to http://www.kivafriends.org/

I'm back with fresh peaches!  Peach Cake on it's way!

two things about reading messages the way I do...  which is (unread posts since my last visit).

Attached photo's don't seem to appear in this method.
 &
Unless your here as often as most of us are and remember the 19 various conversations going on you need the back up messages on that topic.

Regardless, i'm just glad to be here!

Since I answered "Other", here's my other.  I'm a techie, so I read via RSS feed (the Sage firefox extension, in case anyone cares).  I get the 5 most recent posts or replies in my RSS reader, and then click on conversations that interest me, to read more or to reply.

I tend to use them all at some point or another which is why I fiddled with the terms to clarify what each option does. Also being a techie, I use the RSS feed and get posts sent directly to my Mozilla Thunderbird e-mail program that is open pretty much 24/7. So sometimes I read them there, too Smiley

Once I figure out how to get messages directly beamed into my head the second anyone hits "Post", I think I'll probably favor that option.  Wink

As a reminder on RSS feeds, the RSS link on the menu above covers all new messages on the whole forum. If you want to monitor a specific area, use the little link next to the forum section.

Joe replied, his message was accidently bumped by a satalite that has wondered a little off course and was redirected to a minpin in Gatlinburg TN.  The minpin of course couldn't understand the message, however, he did feel the beam in his right pupil and automatically bit at what he thought was the beam, however it was his owners ankle.  Now cujoe is in the closet for something that wasn't actually his fault.  Sad Roll Eyes

p.s.  Who would ever only use the little link button!!!!  you should set that button free!!!!

Note to self: add a bonkers smiley/icon to the forum. It will probably be very popular.   Tongue

The individual RSS links was a feature requested the first week this forum went up. It was so posts/information from individual forums could be syndicated on other web sites. For example, someone could add the RSS for the main Kiva section to their site and display those topics as a newsline, while avoiding our off-topic Lounge shenanigans. Cheesy

So, Joe, I'm still waiting for your reply, yes or no?!  Huh? Tongue Cheesy

Maybe it was Richard's first message that ended up in Gatlinburg, TN.  It's not here. Huh?

If a message gets directly beamed into Joe's head the second anyone hits "Post", will he make a loan?  Huh? Tongue

Hey Joe, I know your busy and all that...(cough) Wink  but, do you think you could change the link settings on the little bitty "kiva.org" upper right hand near the stats so that it opens a new browser or page instead of doing it in the page it's in?

Thanks, this would greatly improve my time on KIVA, allowing me to fly around in SL.

I noticed of late, that some people read post the way the forum defaults.  I've found setting that switch in your profile under 'forum look and layout' and then selecting "most recent on top" makes it easier for me to read.

Anyone else do it this way?

Yea, Henry, that's how I've got it set too.  Smiley

But then I have to keep translating "up" and "above" and "down" and "below" on all those other kinds of posts.  Laugh
