How do you choose who to lend to?

Hi Kiva Friends,

I am writing a paper about the whole of storytelling in soliciting donations and was just wondering what factors individuals considered when selecting a prospective borrower on Kiva? How did you choose a borrower? How do you think Kiva should use these stories?
