A beautiful photo (and a cheese-seller to boot!).

Sulma (and her new baby)
http://www.kiva.org/lend/329828

Sulma is a member of the communal bank "Llapanchik". She has 2 children and she has a cheese sales business. She buys cheese in the farms and she resells in the markets. The loan which she requests will be used to purchase a motorcycle transport vehicle to help her transport cheese. Sulma has worked with Finca Peru (Kiva Field Partner) for the past 4 years and she is very happy. She appreciates the easy loan process which does not require as much documentation as other financial institutions. She values the support that she has received, as well as the orientation sessions that help her to be a better person. She knows how to invest wisely and she also knows how to save money.

Judging from size, I think the little one on the front row is close to newborn.

Mme Abzeta is the representative of the group "Le Chateau." She is married and mother of seven children. The oldest is 24 years old and the youngest four years old. Two of her children go to school and she has five people in her care.

Mme Abzeta sells food products (cabbage, sweet peppers, eggplants). She has practiced this trade for 11 years. She stocks up in the surroundings of the village of Kombissiri. Her clients are resellers, women and men.

She wants to buy half a bag of sweet peppers, one crate of fresh tomatoes and hot peppers.

She saves her profits and invests a part of them back into her business. She aspires to buy herself a motorcycle to help herself get around.

I do not believe that women must make the same choices as men in order to be equal, and I respect those women who choose to live their lives in traditional roles. But it should be their choice. That is why the United States will partner with any Muslim-majority country to support expanded literacy for girls, and to help young women pursue employment through micro-financing that helps people live their dreams." - President Barack Obama, June 4, 2009
