Rebecca (reb-mar) and the Kiva Shopping Club would like to announce their latest loans:  | The group is called Costa Brava after the region of the National Pinotepa coast. This is the story of Joniy de la Cruz Morales, one of the group members. He is married, 30 years old, the father of a three-year old boy and a carpenter. He explains that he chose this profession because he learned it as a child as his father was a carpenter and left him his tools so he'd be able to work. He says it is a good business that provides him with a good income. He is going to use the loan to invest in the purchase of materials to continue working, including wood, glue and paint. The earnings he is getting out of the business
| benefit him and his family very much. He is now financially more secure, which is going to help now that his son is starting preschool and they will have to buy school materials for him. He also says that his business is benefitting the community as there aren't many carpenters in the town and people used to have to go far to order what they need. That's no longer the case, as they now have Joiy's carpenter's worshop nearby. His main goal is to see his son grow up and support him through his studies so that he can have a career and a good profession. He would also like a larger workshop to support his mother, who is a widow and whom he helps financially, and to improve his standard of living. Joniy would like to thank FRAC and KIVA because they have enabled him to own his own business and change his life and his family's.  | Mr. Tha Aom was born in 1972. He is the village bank president who has been selected by 13 people who live in Preaek Louk village in Kandal province. All these members make up a village bank loan and they will use their portion of the loan for different purposes to increase their income to support their families. Mr. Tha Aom sells recyclable items and earns a little money to support his family because he has only a little capital to invest his business. So to improve his business, Mr. Tha Aom is seeking a loan to buy more recyclables to resell. His wife, Mrs. Sen Beng, is a seamstress in a garment factory.
| With these activities, they support three children. One child is a seamstress in a garment factory, another is a student in the local public school, and the youngest one is five years old.
 | Djiguiya is a group of women of Koutiala who know each other well and who live in traditional big families with their husbands, children and other parents. They are on average 43 years old with 4 children or more. This group of women trades in varied ways such as, a restaurant, and the sale of heating wood , cereals, vegetables, plastics etc. To increase the scope of their activities, the members decided to join the credit program of Soro Yiriwaso 5 years ago. They are on their tenth group loan and all the preceding loans were properly repaid. Fatoumata Mallé is a member of the group which sells vegetables: carrots cabbage, beets, radish,
| French beans, cucumbers, legumes, tomatos etc. She intends to use the loan to buy vegetables of all the kinds she sells. She gets vegetables from the surrounding countryside gardeners and at the market of Koutiala. In addition to repaying the loans, they use part of the income to meet current family expenses. She wishes to see this partnership with Soro Yiriwaso strengthened, to be able to diversify her products.

When he was still young, he worked as an assistant, gaining experience in the profession and presently it is his main source of income, allowing him to support his family. His efficiency and effort at work has allowed him to gain customers who are very satisfied, and they have recommended Carlos to their friends. He enjoys his work; he has spent 35 years doing it and his biggest problem is letting jobs go due to a lack of materials. In the future, he plans on adquiring machinery to install mayolica tiles and in this way increase his profits. This is his tenth loan with MFP, and he is committed to making his

She brings her dishes to the terminal market at 11am and sells them until 2pm. The loan she is requesting will be used to buy more products used in preparing her dishes so that she can earn more income to improve her financial situation. It should be mentioned that Sra. María used her previous loans from CEPRODEL to increase her business with new products such as slippers, plastic bags, soft drinks, as well as fried chicken.

Charmaine (cjp1973) and the Kiva Shopping Club would like to announce their latest loans:  | “Los Emprendedores” is a communal bank formed by fourteen socios (borrowers) who reside in La Florida district. These individuals are primarily dedicated to their individual occupation: a seamstress, a baker, an artist (wood pieces), and a salesperson (sells CDs, socks and underwear). Fabiola is the delegate of this group. In the photo she is found in the back row, second from the right, and is wearing a purple jacket. She bakes pastries, alfajores (a traditional Arabic confection) and various cookies and sells them in a stand that she has created in front of her house. She also distributes wholesale for other business to sell within the neighborhood. Fabiola learned how to make pastries
| from her father who was a bread-maker and pastry chef. With this loan, Fabiola intends to purchase the principle ingredients needed to produce these goodies. Her dream is to one day open a pastry shop in a grand location and afterwards add to it a shop that will sell these ingredients for other to make them too. Febiola lives with her husband and 7-year-old daughter. She enjoys participating in the weekly bank meetings along with the other socias (borrowers) and the loan officer. She credits Fondo Esperanza’s weekly bank meetings with enabling her to socialize with other entrepreneurs and learn from their experiences too.
 | Sra. Susy Marlene is 46 years old and married. Her husband provides her with financial and moral support in all the projects she undertakes. They have three children, one of whom is still a dependent. Susy is a member of the group “Manos Telarañas” (Delicate Hands), which consists of eight individuals who live in the district of Carabayllo. Her fellow members elected her to the group’s Board of Directors as the rules administrator. Sra. Susy Marlene has been producing woven sweaters, vests, shirts, and other articles for one year. She started meeting with a group of friends who possessed the same skills. Now they sell their woven products in different public places as a formal organization that

 | The Respekte Pwincipe group whose name translates to `Respect Principles, ` is a group from Trou du Nord Haiti. The town they live in has no running water, and electricity is sparse. This group of entrepreneurs is motivated to make a difference in their lives personally and in the lives of their families. They have joined Esperanza in efforts to make their dreams become reality. Apollon is a representative of this group. Apollon, a family man with two children, sells paper goods, but his focus is on blocks of paper. Recently he saw the need for phones and phone utilities, so he will now use a portion of the loan for phone cards to better serve his community.

Deb Z and the Kiva Shopping Club would like to announce their latest loans:  | The Communal Bank “Querer de Poder” is comprised of 17 members from the city of Rancagua. Palmenia is the group president. In the photograph, she is seated on the third row to the left wearing a white jacket with red and black bands. She operates a parcel shipping center and bookstore out of her home. In addition, she sells fast food next to her house which she is renting. Her 15 year old son and her husband, when he comes home from work, help manage her businesses. Palmenia has three more children, 9 year old twins and a 4 year old daughter. She and her husband began these businesses two years ago when her husband began losing vision in one eye, which is essential for his job as a systems
| analyst. He then quit his job and both of them decided to start these business with financial assistance from her father-in-law. Fortunately, her husband later returned to his job but she continued to manage both businesses. With this loan, Palmenia will by merchandise for her businesses. Her dream is to buy the house that she is renting and expand it so that she can develop her businesses. She is very happy with the support she has received from Fondo Esperanza and her Communal Bank. Palmenia has learned from the experiences of her fellow group members.
 | Satta Nyandemore, who is holding the sign, is the leader of a group of five borrowers called Ten Sticks. She is 60 years old, married, and has seven children between 23 and 39. She was not privileged to attend school due to poverty. For 20 years, she has been selling lappas in Chicken Soup Market on the outskirts of Monrovia, Liberia. She plans to use her 20,000 Liberian Dollars portion of this 58,000 Liberian Dollars group loan to buy more lappas. She describes herself as a determine woman. Her dream is to improve her business.

 | Selemani Shewji, 23, is married and an auctioneer in the Ilala market just some few kilometers from the city centre. For seven years he has worked from 5am to 10am daily. He is able to make a monthly profit of about $375. This will be Selemani’s second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loan to increase his business stock and he has paid back the loan successfully. He hopes for a new loan to increase his stock even more. His dreams is to open a retail shop and sell things

 | Mrs. Taim Thorng is 36 years old and the leader of a group loan. She was selected by the four members, who are located in Samphli village in Takeo province. Mrs. Taim Thorng and her husband, Mr. Vuthy Penh, are farmers who own 1.2 hectares of land. They cultivate rice and vegetables for a living. In order to support this farm, Mrs. Taim Thorng decided to ask for a loan to buy fertilizer for her crops. Mrs. Taim Thorng also sells Khmer cakes in the local market to earn extra income. This couple has four children, all of whom are students and also support their parents' businesses.

They have three daughters, and two of them go to elementary school. Bolivia sells food, and her husband drives a small bus on route 86. They get up very early to see to their family, and then they start to work. Bolivia sells “salchipapas” (flatbread stuffed with meat, cheese, or vegetables), hamburgers, and fried chicken every evening from 6:00 until 11:00. During the day she shops for the things she needs for her business. Then, she helps her daughters with their homework from school. She needs the loan to start building a room on a lot. She and her husband bought the lot thanks to their work efforts. They currently live in “anticrédico”
| (a special type of rental arrangement in Bolivia). She is a responsible and very hard-working person. She has been a client with Emprender for a long time. This is the second time that she has accessed a loan from Kiva.
 | Romania was born in and currently lives in the city of Ollantaytambo where the majority of its inhabitants work in tourism. Four years ago, Romania opened a restaurant called “Doña Romania” in her home, which is located on the main street or entrance to the city of Ollantaytambo. She can be found in her restaurant 7 days a week from 7 in the morning until pretty late in the evening, or until the food runs out. Romania is the very image of responsibility and kindness. A constant flow of customers visits her restaurant and business picks up at breakfasttime, lunchtime and dinnertime. She also sells grilled chicken and serves heaping portions of french fries, slices of chicken, salad and custard. With her next loan, Romania hopes to receive $1,000 USD. At the moment, her restaurant is well equipped with the basic necessities. She would like to use the money from this loan for personal use. Jacqueline can be found in the third row and first from the left; she is wearing a green jacket. Jacqueline´s business consists of a small grocery store located in front of her house. Jacqueline has managed this store for the past 15 years.
| Jacqueline plans to use this loan to purchase merchandise such as perishable and non-perishable food items for her store. As the market has been getting more competitive, she would like to offer a greater variety and change some of the items she currently offers; for example, a larger variety of vegetables, firewood and charcoal items. Even though Jacqueline is affected by thyroid disease, she remains full of life due to her business. Jacqueline's household consists of her mother and her 19-year-old daughter, who also works. Diane R and the Kiva Shopping Club would like to announce their latest loans:  | Rocio is the president of the Group, “California Breezes” which has worked with Edaprospo (Kiva’s field partner) for a year and it is comprised of 7 people who are all friends. Rocio is 39 years old and lives in the AH area Brisas de California which is where they got the name of the group since the other members are also her neighbors. Rocio worked selling cakes and 5 years ago she has sold candy from her home and with her partner they are able to pay
| for household expenses, her future goal is to have a restaurant.
 | Candelaria Norma Torrico lives in an area north of the city of Cochabamba in the neighborhood known as Cala Cala. Canelaria was married, but she got divorced about a year ago. She only has one child, a minor. Candelaria lives with her two sisters, and they also work. Candelaria is a veterinary technician. She has a small farm of laying hens, which is located in the Paso area of the city of Cochabamba. She has been selling eggs and chicken in the city of Cochabamba for eight years. During this time, with help from her sisters, they were able to make the size of her farm grow considerably. Candelaria is requesting a loan to be able to

Mrs. Yorng Thai has been spending her life cultivating crops. Her husband, who is pictured, frequently works alongside her in the farm fields. In addition to her farming job, Yorng Thai makes clay stoves and saves up to one hundred sets or more before having her husband sell them around the community. Making clay stoves is a skill she learned from her grandparent when she was young. Yorng Thai will be using her first loan as capital to buy clay in order to make more stoves to sell.
