basically the site earns money through marketing/advertising (and likely the number of page-hits influences their attractivity for clients and thus their profitability). So the funds donated come from their earnings/operating budget and are a kind of compensation for the effort of visiting their site - I thus think it's perfectly acceptable to run around the limit to some extent.

Thanks Wolfgang. I guess it's gray enough for me to double-dip when I think of doing so, especially when the cause is so much worth overlooking my breaking the intent of the rule.

Here comes the next challenge part you can help with! 

As soon as the fan page of Travel2Help (see http://www.kiva.org/lender/travel2help to learn more) on facebook hits the number of 500 fans, a donation of 100 € (!) will be made to the Fistula Foundation: http://www.facebook.com/travel2help.dot.org.

At the moment they have 384 fans, so we need about 116 more people willing to take part. If we succeed with this first challenges, there will be more challenges ahead for the next milestones meaning also more funds for fistula efforts!

So if you are on facebook, please take a moment to click on the link above and then "like" the page with the button you will see there. And please help us also to spread the word about this, even if you are not on facebook! There is no time limit included for this offer. But the sooner we hit the first milestone the better!

Hello everyone, great news, we did it!  

Just in time before Charmaine and I board tomorrow the plane to Ethiopia to visit some of the locations of the Fistula Hospital and to attend as well the opening of the new outreach center in Metu as also the graduation ceremony of the first 12 midwifes the Hamlin College has educated our big wish for 400 € on Dshini.net got fulfilled - enough to pay for another operation and to restore the life and dignity of one woman.  

A big thank you to all who have helped us to reach this wonderful milestone by clicking on our link, doing other activities on dshini like playing some little games and spreading the word. You are amazing!!!

The last 9 days have been some of the most intensive and inspiring days of my life and I hope you can get at least a glimpse of this by taking a look on the photos.  

Thank you, everyone, for accompanying us on this trip in spirit and with all the help you have given us and that resulted in the amazing amount of more than $ 13,000 having been raised through the different things we started together.    

And after having seen the work in Ethiopia now with my own eyes I can hardly imagine a better way to spend this money than to help these poor women regain back their lives.
