Earlier today, the forum software version being used by kivafriends.org was upgraded to the most recent version of SMF (1.1.11).  The upgrade went fairly smoothly, and did fix some possible security problems (which several members had run into recently).

However, it appears that KF Chat is currently not functioning properly.  Members entering the chatroom will not see any controls, and even after signing out, will appear as a ghost until someone else signs in.  I'll post here again once it is working as usual.

If you run into any other problems while visiting the site, please let me know, either by PM or by posting them here, and I'll get them on the list of things to look into.  Thanks for your patience.

Afternoon update:

  • Still no change on the KF chatroom problems, but they're being looked into.

  • The "Most Popular Thread (as of now)" indicator has been removed. It was an add-on to the forum software, and after the upgrade it was no longer compatible.  Instead, the previous 15 most recent posts are listed in the "Community Information Center" section at the bottom of the main KF page (increased from 10).

Is anyone else having an issue using "Show all recent posts on Kiva Friends"?  The first page appears fine, it shows the last 10 posts, but when I move to page number 2 it skips me down several posts.  I'm not sure if this is related to my forum settings or the upgrade...

Yes, that is happening for me, too -- page 2 skips three posts.

I appear to have skipped posts as well.

Got it, and I think I see what's happening, thanks for the reports!

EDIT:  Should be fixed now, thanks!

Hey everyone - there was an issue with sessions and cookies that started early this morning. It should be fixed now and posting/logging out/in should be working again. Sorry about that! As Diane mentioned above, the forum was upgraded over the weekend. Hopefully this will be the last of the glitches (chat room is still being checked into as well!)

Hope you're all doing well.
