. . .
In the meantime, the charts are visible using Chrome or Safari.
. . .

The charts are also visible in Opera, which personally I've found to be a much more stable and faster browser than Google's Chrome lately.  You can download Opera here : http://www.opera.com/

Opera is a great browser too, but if you want to enhance your Kiva experience, I wouldn't recommend it.  Kiva neither supports nor tests our website on Opera. (95% of the time it probably works just fine, because Opera is a great browser, but we neither look for nor commit to fixing any problems that do occur on Opera.)

Kiva's supported browsers are IE7/IE8/IE9, Firefox, Chrome, Safari. We haven't specifically listed versions for Firefox/Chrome/Safari - users tend to update on those browsers very quickly, so we support "recent" version of those browsers.

Sorry, a little late on my update about the missing Country/Partner/Sector charts in IE8 and Firefox.  I spent a few hours yesterday personally trying to figure out what the problem might be here, and I have to say I'm stumped!

Thus, this issue will need to passed along to one of our engineers with more expertise in this area then I have.  Unfortunately, this means we'll likely miss the cutoff for the ~August 23rd release, and instead are looking at a timeframe of around September 7th.

Good news - we were able to get in a fix for this issue before today's release went live.  My Portfolio Distribution charts should now be visible again in all browsers.

Perhaps this is a good time to remind Kiva about a promise (or near-promise) to offer the Portfolio Distribution for Active loans (as on kivalens), not just Historic as at present. This was envisaged either this quarter or this half-year. It will be very welcome.

Can Kiva confirm this remains their intention?

Howard

Is there any news on this yet?

Very good question, Howard. This has been floating around for so long and is very important if you make several loans per cycle. It is very cumbersome to always calculate anew where my current loans are so that I can spread my risk.

And it is very hard to figure how much in dollars is in each country.  If one Field Partner has only end of term loans, it isn't the same as another FP on the last month of 24 month loans.

I also would like to see total amount repaid or in arrears for each loan.  Right now, you can find where  every month there is a repayment which doesn't match the amount due.  Over 11 months, I only can tell at a glance if it late or not but not how far off.

Regretfully, Kivafolio requires an app that is off limits in my business environment.  Having these tools right in the Kiva Website would be soo much better.

I agree with Dan. I believe that it is in Kiva's responsibility to provide lenders with this tool. In my opinion, this is more important than other features that have been included in the site like the expected repayments page. That is a nice gimmick. But where I've got my money riding currently is becoming more and more vital the longer I lend and the greater the number of loans I have participated in. If Kiva wants its lenders to make informed decisions about lending, which it proclaims, then it has to provide lenders with a tool to manage the risks, and that should be on its site and not an app.

Thanks for the hint anyway, David! I will check it out.
