Hi guys! I'm pretty new to Kiva and I am eager to start loaning. I'm a college student and I recently decided that I should put my money into better use than just letting lay around. So when I heard of Kiva I knew it be a great idea to let my extra cash help people. I'm thinking of buying the Groupon deal where you buy it for $15 and give you a voucher of $25. Anyone tried it? I was wondering if Kiva pays back the $15 or $25 like a regular loan assuming the risk and currency loss?

Hi Dionysius!

Welcome aboard. I haven't used the Groupon offer myself, but to answer your question, the deal is that you get the first $15 repaid and Kiva gets the rest as a donation from Groupon. Which seems fair to me.

There's more information on this thread.

Kiva credit is money that can be relent, or donated to Kiva, or withdrawn through Paypal.

So the $15 in this example is Kiva credit.
