Email Message from Rico (a contact at the Samoa MFI) after I sent him a congrats for getting the money distributed and catching my lobster.

Hello Henry,

It was more of a delay in our posting to Kiva but the loans were disbursed to the people a lot earlier. We will e posting updates later on. Thanks for your support to this tiny nation of Samoa. We are inviting you to come and visit us sometime.

Rico

If Rico gives us somewhere to stay I might be able to swing it!   Tongue

Pacific Islands, Australia, New Zealand, micronesia(sp) - same here, I'm a scuba diver so these places have always interested me, sadly the distance (Hours on a jet) gives me enough *(YUCK)* about the trip.  I've settled for diving closer to home.

I received my Crown & Anchor magazine yesterday, it mentions a very interesting 12 night exotic asia cruise, very tempting.  If I could just 'beam' to the port to board the ship!  plus.....it's time for a cruise!

Looks like the return boat is slow, too! I looked at the list of South Pacific Business Development's loans, and it looks like no payments have been recorded since June (based on a random sample). I can't believe all those borrowers are behind; looks more like SPDC is holding onto the money for some reason.

Maybe Kiva needs to shake them up a bit! ?

See, e.g., http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=8876 and http://www.kiva.org/app.php?page=businesses&action=about&id=6119

All my loans to Samoa have been paying back "normally."  Huh?

to Somoan's?
Digging out again my proofreader's and translator's English bible: the country is Samoa and the inhabitants are Samoans.
