Nancy Elizabeth Espinoza Saltos

Portoviejo, Ecuador

Nancy and her husband raise honeybees. They also have a laboratory where they make products out of honey such as royal jelly, royal jelly cream, shampoo, and other products. Their products are delivered to natural product stores throughout the city and the entire country. Nancy says she works Monday through Saturday. She receives help from three employees who are paid a monthly salary. Nancy has been in business for more than 20 years.

This loan will be used to buy plastic containers for packaging her products. Nancy is the founder of the Communal Bank and enjoys the support that her fellow group members have given her. Her dream is to increase production and sales.

She's a nurse, and keeps livestock and bees for additional income.  She is using her loan to buy additional livestock, and to replace some bee colonies that died over the cold winter.  Kyrgyzstan, 26 months.

Beekeeper and honey producer from Colombia.  He repaid his previous loan and is requesting another one:
http://www.kiva.org/lend/420601

With his previous Kiva loan, Juan bought wax and honeycomb foundation so that he could produce more honeycomb panels. He also purchased equipment for processing, packaging, and labeling the sweet honey that he sells. Juan is currently applying for a Kiva loan so that he can buy a centrifugal machine (for extracting honey) and more honeycomb foundation and tools for making new panels.

His message to the Kiva lenders is as follows: "I am extremely grateful for the overwhelming support you have given me. This opportunity has given people the chance to become familiar with my business. I also appreciate the training and advice from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo."

Marina Gevorgyan

Marina is 50 years old. She lives in Kapan City in the south of Armenia, with her husband and son. Mairna's husband is a hairdresser and the couple started a beekeeping business five years ago. Now their farm includes seven beehives and their main income comes from making honey and selling it in the city.

Marina is requesting a long to purchase beehives and develop her beekeeping skills. Her loan will provide a good opportunity for her to earn additional income which will help improve her household conditions and provide a better quality of life.
