I love this new topic, Valeree!  I always search for loans to buy new tools or equipment.

Mhammad is 33 years old and married. He is the father of three children. Mhammad lives with his family in Nabatieh.

He works in repairing washing machines and electronic appliances with 23 years of experience. He was very small when he started working, and it was all for the sake of helping his family with their income and expenses.

Mhammad is requesting a loan from Al Majmoua for the forth time, in order to buy tools useful for fixing the machines he repairs. His previous loans had a great effect on his social and economic life.

He hopes to give his children the best education they deserve, in addition to a happy childhood.
He hopes to expand his business and start selling new washing machines and other home appliances.

Alia is a 42-year-old mother of four children. She is known for her tasty breads and “Maftool”. She has been baking for her children since the moment they were born, and all of her neighbors and relative got to taste her bread. They encouraged her to bake at home and sell the bread.

Because of the encouragement that she got from people around her, Alia started a small business baking bread and started to make “Maftool”. She has been selling it on order for almost 10 years now.

Now Alia wants to buy a special oven for baking that will help her increase her productivity. For that reason she has applied for this loan.

Kiva says this about the MFI that originated this loan:  "NMB will be begin using Kiva for their general loan portfolio, with the aim of expanding their product offerings into the green and education spaces over the next 1-2 years."  So, partipating in a loan from NMB today, may increase the green and education loans available on Kiva in the near future.

Amy, thanks!  I am really interested in loaning for things that are going to provide long-term improvement (as opposed to inventory, for instance) and I searched for a topic that was already here and didn't find one.  Love the Maftool lady!
