In keeping with the excitement surrounding Kiva Green Loans, this thread can be used to highlight any green advertised products or merchandise for sale out there in internet world, along with coupons, codes, or rebates for green products.

Came across this site when it was announced in Kiva's most recent newsletter, April 2011, that the profits from one of their green product offerings would benefit Kiva.org.  They offer some really innovative and unique products from time to time at quite a discount off the original price, usually around 50% or more.  Ive seen solar flashlights, water operated alarm clocks, and a pretty nifty reusable utensil set...plenty more to come...

Figured this sort of site for the most part would be right up KF alley--Ill continue to post links when I am notified via email of additional nifty items being offered up.  Premal is a fan on facebook as well.

Video of green utensil set, production process which is very Kiva-like.

I find not direction in the readings of those with whom my eccentricities are similar, but rather validation.

My only solace is that I find a peaceful place where I might be resigned to my depriving loneliness.

Very cool video and a great product idea.  I hate little plastic utensils, anyway.  I'm always taking regular stainless from the set at home, which leaves me short of flatware when company comes!  These bamboo ones would be nice & light.

Purchase some really attractive African made shea butter products from the company called OUT OF AFRICA!!

50% off Pure, Age-Defying Shea Butter Body Oil
http://www.blissmo.com/green-deal/outofafrica/\

Out of Africa company Website
http://www.outofafricashea.com/index.html

"The team from Out of Africa realized that nature's good for a lot of things, and making a miraculous moisturizer is no exception. Crushed and churned by hand out of shea nuts, this shea butter makes your skin healthier and more vibrant while providing jobs and funding education in West Africa. Philanthropy and beautiful skin, how's that for refreshing?......."

Founders:
Victor Lulla, a native New Yorker was living in Los Angeles when he sold his electronics firm and decided to turn his passion for environmental products into an organic skin and bodycare business. A few years later in 2005, Victor met Gilles Adamon, the owner of a shea butter company from West Africa. The two men found that they shared an interest in natural products as well as social responsibility. Later that year, Out of Africa was born. Victor and Debra Lulla would purchase state-of-the-art production equipment and raw materials, while Adamon's team, in collaboration with a West African women's cooperative, would supply locally-sourced organic unrefined shea butter. Their company-owned factory in Benin now produces 200,000 bars of soap a month, along with an expanding array of other shea butter products.

Fabulous video!!!

6 pairs of organic socks

Do you know how your socks are made? Neither do your socks, and even if they did, they're probably still too traumatized to talk about it. That's because conventional socks are yanked out of dirty GMO cotton fields where they are drenched in pesticides and petrochemicals before getting stretched-out and stitched-up in sweatshops.

On the other foot, Maggie's Organics make their Fair Trade and Organic cotton socks right here in the U.S.A. Just order a pair and they won't stop bragging to your feet about how they spent a pleasant childhood as fluffy little cotton balls basking in a chemical-free field. Unlike conventional socks, Maggie's are organic and Fair Trade certified. That means better working conditions for the growers, harvesters, knitters and dyers. Just don't be surprised after a little footamorphisis in these comfy chrysalises when you start to float like a butterfly.

Meet the Founder: Bena Burda
Since 1992, Maggie's Organics has been on a mission to produce and provide comfortable, durable, affordable and beautiful articles of apparel. Founder Bena Burda was working with an organic corn farmer in Texas to improve the quality of his blue corn crop for the tortilla chips she was marketing at the time. The farmer decided that adding cotton into his three year organic crop rotation would improve his corn yields. His experiment worked, and also provided him with 200 acres of certified organic cotton, which he expected Bená to sell. After researching cotton, and learning that this one crop is grown on 3-5% of the world’s cultivated land, and yet uses nearly 10% of the world's pesticides and 25% of the world's insecticides, we committed ourselves to utilizing these 200 acres of organic cotton to tell the real story behind conventional cotton clothing.

Maggie's Organics only uses materials that restore, sustain and enhance the resources, including human, from which they are made.Maggie's Organics socks are Fair Trade Certified and support equitable hiring and employment, safe workplace conditions, and access to health, education and transportation services to their supply chain workers.

Organic and Homemade dog treats.

Meet the Founder: Shawn Sherry
Shawn Sherry and Anthony Newman founded The Barkers Dozen in 2009 with a common passion for providing homemade organic pet treats that everyone could afford. Pets are like kids, giving them dangerously tainted food simply wasn't an option. In 2011, Sherry assumed sole ownership of The Barkers Dozen, following a year of historic growth for the company. What's their secret? They start by using only the highest-quality human-grade organic ingredients. Next they make each batch by hand so they can personally ensure safety, quality, and tastiness (don't ask). Warning: Once you share these treats, your dog will never go back.

$9 shipping per item to Canada.
Limit 2 per person

Get warm and fuzzy with recycled fleece that supports single moms
Want to feel all warm and fuzzy inside and out? In honor of Mother's Day, we're featuring an eco-fleece throw that supports single mothers and children living in poverty. The Polartec fleece throw isn't just good for working moms, it's also better for the planet. That's because each throw is made from 85% recycled plastic bottles and post-consumer plastics.

Nearly 40% of American children are born to single mothers. And, among U.S. households headed by a single mother, 33% live below the poverty line. A major part of the problem is that these mothers spend the majority of their already low income on daycare costs. Based in Boston, Moms and Jobs (MoJo) employs this underserved demographic by giving them better salaries and completely-funded child care. By employing these mothers in the apparel industry, Moms with Jobs helps to fight the "feminization of poverty" while empowering single mothers in a truly sustainable industry.

Help break the cycle of poverty and fight climate change with MoJo!

Meet the founders: Tom, Darr and Cara Aley
Two former Dow Jones executives (and brothers) launched MoJo as a for-profit social venture with the goal of helping poverty stricken single mothers in the U.S. Founders Tom Aley, Darr Aley and Cara Aley formed MoJo to provide sustainable employment opportunities, complete coverage of childcare, and career development for single mothers in the apparel manufacturing sector. MoJo takes most of its profit from sales of the products to help finance these and other benefits. The balance of its profit is used for purchasing raw material and is used to hire new employees. MoJo is creating jobs across the country, look for new facilities in Oakland, Detroit, New Orleans, and Philadelphia!

I'm going to have to steer well clear of this thread if you're going to keep highlighting Blissmo offers Steven!  I went to check them out when they were selling those flashlights with proceeds donated to Kiva a couple of weeks back and ended up buying an indoor composter Shocked  Having said that, it's a really funky composter.  I fed it for the first time last night and it's already composted most of it.  My lettuce and bean seeds are positively squeaking in anticipation!  Don't need a fleece throw... don't need a fleece throw ... don't need a fleece throw...
