As a big sports fan, I have to say that I absolutely love spotting Kiva borrowers around the world sporting (ha! no pun intended...honestly!!!) hats / shirts / flags of various well-known (and lesser-known) sports teams.  I personally always feel drawn to any borrower wearing a Barça top for instance (Força Barça!). I look forward to the day I see a borrower wearing a Penn State baseball cap or top and I hereby swear that if I ever spot a borrower wearing an SAFC top, I pledge to fully fund their entire loan myself - as long as it's under $500 Wink

I am creating this thread for fellow sports fans who also love spotting the team colors.  I will share here the photo I saw this evening that made me finally decide to start this thread:

My first thought on seeing this photo was "Awwwww! What a cute little thing!".  This was closely followed by "is that a Bayern Münich shirt that guy's wearing there?!"

that Wikipedia article has been vandalized by a Newcastle fan (no surprise there), and currently begins:
Sunderland Association Football Club is a terrible football club based in makemland

Great idea for a thread.  I also like spotting borrowers wearing team shirts.  There tend to be quite a few Chelsea supporters in West Africa for obvious reasons (Didier Drogba for one).  I think the most surprising, which I didn't keep a note of, was a Kenyan borrower who was wearing an NHL jersey, Boston Bruins I think.  Not much ice hockey played in Kenya.

And it's not just team apparel.  Check out Abbas Bangura's rear bumper...

Laugh I'm sure that happens all the time.  My mum was a dyed-in-the-wool Sunderland supporter while my dad was 100% Newcastle Smiley

As a MotoGP fan, I tend to notice posters of motorcycle racers on the walls of repair shops (after which I support the proprietors' loans, as you can see Smiley ). While this isn't exactly "wearing the team colors", it is sports-related and catches my eye. Two examples:

Hugo

(And although I'm not a basketball fan, while going through some older loans to find these, I stumbled across Kobe Bryant's jersey:

Peter,

in Kenya I literally saw dozens of these busses sporting the colours for ManU, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool...in that order of number of appearances. It was quite the sight!

And that would have been a reason for me to actively NOT fund this man... Wink Laugh Laugh Laugh

I've done jersey- or team-based lending before, too...check out this clever reference to Franz Beckenbauer!

Here is a big fan and a fan for many years my brothers's son named Ralf after Ralf Edstrom who played there 30+ years ago.

I just send a message to team Netherlands I don't know if we have much fans on the team but if I look where they come from it should
