I am a big fan of Pro Mujer Bolivia and received the following link through their Facebook page today (thanks to Peter who made me aware that they had such a page a few months back).  It actually refers to health services provided by Pro Mujer Peru but I know that Pro Mujer Bolivia provide similar services to their clients.  I just wanted to share it with anybody who feels they need any more reasons to loan through Pro Mujer - beyond the already awesome facts that their clients are nearly always happy and smiling in their photos and the MFI obviously give away free aprons from time to time

There was a similar health-related story about a Pro Mujer Nicaragua client a few days ago.  She had a pap smear through Pro Mujer which detected an abnormal result and was referred to a surgeon for a live-saving operation.

I just wish Kiva partnered with Pro Mujer in countries besides Bolivia

Hmmm, seems like a good idea to me so you have my support, even though I'm just new.  Maybe it's something you need to ask direct or contact an admin about it I'm sure they would reply here for everyone to discuss it.

Hello Lunar!  I would just like to say on behalf of everybody over here at KivaFriends.  It's always nice to see new people (I was new here myself not all that long ago!) and I'm thrilled to potentially be the first person to welcome you!  Maybe I will contact them about it at some point.  See what they say.

Looks like Pro Mujer are giving away free aprons again!  And the lady in the front row is kindly demonstrating the rather handy front pouch (FWIW, I love aprons and tops with front pouches / pockets like that because as I'm walking round the house and picking up all the crud that the kids have left lying around I stuff it all in my pouch / pocket until I get around to putting it away / throwing it in the garbage.  Some days it gets so full it's a wonder I don't topple over forwards and face plant the floor).  Oh man!  I just love Pro Mujer and their borrowers.  They totally rock!
