Hello all -

I'm happy to report that the Loans at Risk Rate now appears on our borrower profiles in addition to the appropriate partner page!  You can see it in action on this loan that's up for expiration tomorrow (shameless plug for LLL!):
http://www.kiva.org/lend/315884

I wanted to let you guys know that I've been listening to all the feedback from David2051, Charmaine, Amy, Skimmis and others on this important subject:

My #1 concern is making sure the risks are accurately reflected in the numbers shown on the loan pages so that lenders considering new loans to the partner can do so from an informed position.  As a secondary concern, I do also think that it is important that Kiva talks about things accurately in help text, comments in the loan repayment schedules, etc. but for me that takes a back seat to protecting Kiva users who may be making new loans.

My biggest issue with this now is that the At Risk numbers are not shown on the loan pages, so a lot of lenders are making loans without being informed of the risk.  It is very tedious having to open the partner page before making every loan, and I'm sure most casual lenders aren't aware that the actual risk statistic is only to be found on the partner page.

Here are some notes from my last call with Ali: ...

*Loans at Risk Rate needs to be shown on each loan for the FP, it should be listed in connection with delinquency.  Management is in agreement with this, and it is being worked on.

What i dont like, is that the loans at risk rate is hidden from the lenders if you look at a single loan.

I agree, 100%.  Those are things that Kiva should change.

Plus, this is just something I felt strongly about personally.  I've been advocating for this to be added to the borrower profile (in addition to the partner page) for quite some time, and am excited to finally see it in place. I hope you all share my excitement. :-)

Best,
John

Great addition to the lender's page.

Thanks John, it's always nice when changes improve the lending experience.
