Wow!  That's good to know.  This also explains why some of the more larger loans have been funding so quickly.

Regards,
Ronan

It's preliminary to say at this point, but it also appears like the presence of loan matching may be motivating more people to lend more funds.  Ordinarily we'd expect matched loans to fund at a 2x rate, but it appears that they are funding at a rate substantially ahead of 2x.

That said, the only true way to test that would be to A/B test loan matching on similar loans... to my knowledge, that test has yet to be done.

Still, pretty exciting!

Best,
John

This is just speculation on my part because I haven't looked at any of the loans being matched: could this "motivation" be in some part a result of the "artificial" boost in a loan's popularity rating caused by the extra amounts attributed to those loans by the matches?

Interesting possibility!  I will ask the product manager who worked on matching. :-)

Keen is indeed a lender on every loan where it's providing matching! Their profile is just set to anonymous. :-)

This makes no sense to me, why would they want / need to have the matching funds profile anonymous?    Huh?

Hello Kerry!

Hmm I don't know the official answer, but my guess would be that a lot of businesses are feeling overwhelmed with all the social profiles they have to maintain these days (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).  So perhaps they're not ready to maintain a profile and respond to lender messages?

Not sure... but I'm definitely grateful for their support of this matching fund!

And Keen is a member of Team Norway?  Grin
